Description of Surrounding Area
The Margaree, a world famous Salmon River, is a Canadian Heritage River. Our premise is close to the Cape Breton Island's "Fab Four" Golf Courses, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, Fortress Louisberg, Highland Village and all other Island attractions. Hiking, canoeing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, fresh and ocean beaches are within minutes and the Highland National Park is an easy drive down the Margaree River "Intervale" and along the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence following the Cabot Trail, "Canada's most famous scenic drive!"
Description of Accommodations
We are a Four Star, Canada Select B&B! Unique accommodations in secluded valley 2km off the Cabot Trail. This is a working Trout Farm, (Speckled and Rainbow) with a U-fish. A walk up our 'deer field' on our 'south' mountain gives a stupendous view of the Margaree Valley. Bald Eagles and Ospreys visit our ponds almost daily and the swallows and 'hummers' (hummingbirds), are always in residence.
Description of Rooms/Suites
Two rooms each with ensuite 4 piece baths. One room has a queen size bed, the second Twin Beds and double-bed size futon. Common room downstairs has Satellite TV & VCR or you can just relax, listening to music or reading.Telephone or data port/modem connection available in rooms. Breakfast is in the main house in our distinctive 'sun room' overlooking our largest pond. Extras available on request.
Amenities
Several excellent "restaurants with a view" in the area. "The Barn" has the "Three Fiddler Concerts and Ceilidh" Friday nights in June, Sept. and Oct.-Wed. nights in July and August. Dances at S.W. hall on Fridays in summer. Several 'low impact' hiking trails in area and roads for cycling. Four salt water beaches along the coast and numerous 'swimming holes' along the river.
Services Offered
Full breakfast, including trout if desired. You can catch your own! Satellite TV in lounge, telephone and modem hook-ups in rooms.
Restrictions
No pets. No smoking in buildings.

Per room: CDN $95 single, CDN$115 for two, $15 each for additional people sharing the twin room, Plus 14% HST. 10% discount for 2nd and succeeding nights. Opened May to Oct. Reservations suggested. Visa, Mastercard and American Express
Directions
From Baddeck on the Cabot Trail, drive towards Margaree Forks and, just as you come into the village, you will see our signs directing you to turn left onto Doyles Road.
Arriving via Route 19, (the Celidh Trail), turn right, towards Baddeck at the Forks, and drive 2 km until you see our signs directing you to turn right onto Doyles Road.
The Old Miller Farm is at the end of the gravel road..2 km. from the Cabot Trail.
