Active Adventure

Drift boat float fishing, either spin or fly fishing, in a variety of rivers and locations in both Canterbury and the West Coast. Brown trout al year, salmon in season. Experienced guides, multi-day wilderness options, camping, or based at lodge on edge of Lake Brunner. We provide collection, transport, equipment, license, meals, and accommodation as required. We can also provide alpine river fly fishing, stalking brown trout in wilderness rivers.

We cater for all skill and fitness levels, and can provide an activity level to match client requirements.

Typical Day

Pickup from hotel 8:30 am, drive one hour to launch point. 6 hours of quality river time. Drift and fish, and stop to thoroughly cover all good pools. Includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Overnight, multiday, Canterbury or West Coast trips available.

Age range, type of group

We cater to all fishermen and women, young and old. We offer family-style accommodation and meals, and the guide actually cooks as well!!!

Sleeping and meals

We have a fishing lodge at Lake Brunner on the West Coast. This house has 3 double bedrooms, one bunkroom. Fully furnished, very comfortable, and only 200 yards from the lakes edge. Our home-style accommodation is also available in Christchurch, and at Kaikoura. Wilderness camping trips are comfortable, tents and tarps affairs, and the "roughing it a litle" is still pretty comfortable.

Policies & Restrictions

There are no restrictions on age or gender, and we will do our best to provide activities for disabled clients as well. Clients who smoke must observe common-sense safety precautions - forest fire is always a risk! State Forest & National Park areas do not permit pets.

1 person, 1 day = NZ$ 650
2 people, 1 day = NZ$ 750
1 person, 2 days = NZ$ 990
2 people, 2 days = NZ$1190
2 people, 5 days = NZ$2775
etc. Please ask for a quote for your trip. We are happy to include visits to local tourist attractions, wineries etc on request.
