Details of Yes Bay Lodge, Alaska, Santa Barbara, CA, Alaska Fishing Trips Details for Yes Bay Lodge, Alaska

Typical Day

Unlike most lodges and resorts in the state, Yes Bay Lodge offers both fresh and saltwater fishing. The myriad lakes, streams, and rivers within a short distance of the Lodge offers some of the finest trout and Dolly Varden fishing available in Southeast Alaska. And the steelhead fishing is world class. McDonald Lake is within hiking distance, as are many of the streams and rivers. Fly-in fishing, although not part of the package, is available on request.

There are five species of salmon that spawn in the area, including Chum, Coho, Pink, King, and Sockeye, in addition to halibut, cod, rockfish and ling cod.

ITINERARY
As a guest of Yes Bay Lodge, you prepare your own itinerary. You may fish both fresh and saltwater during your stay - the choice is up to you. All excursions are fully guided, whether hiking to the lake or fishing from one of our boats. You'll find only two guests per boat for truly personal service. If you choose, a box lunch will be prepared for you to take on the water, or you may wish to come in for a hot lunch served in the dining room.

Yes Bay's 20' custom-built covered resort boats are equipped with the best and latest equipment, including depth and fish finders, downriggers, and the latest in graphite rods and reels. All the gear you need is provided for you.

Sleeping and meals

The Lodge offers first class accommodations with only your comfort in mind. Homestyle meals are prepared in our kitchen and served in the spacious dining room. The large windows afford a breathtaking view of Yes Bay.
After dinner, relax with your favorite cocktail, sitting before the fire in the lounge. You will enjoy the rustic decor: lining the walls are elk, moose, bear, a mountain goat, salmon and trout.

Accommodations for conferences, conventions, board meetings and sales incentive programs are available at the lodge.

THE LODGE Construction of the lodge building began in the mid-50's, originally to be used as a casino and cat house. However, it never opened for business, due to the fact that the Alaskan Terretory became a state, and the government was required to outlaw gambling and prostitution. The building was purchased in 1977 by Art and Marlys Hack, who transformed it into one of Southeast Alaska's first successful sportfishing lodges. Now their sons, Kevin and Bill, run the lodge, in the Hack Family tradition.

Guest Rooms: All guest rooms have a private bathroom. Based on double occupancy, rooms either have two twin beds or one queen sized bed.

Dining Room: The dining room seats 24 guests comfortably, and overlooks the beauty of Yes Bay.

GAME ROOM: Adjacent to the dining room and the gift shop, guests may enjoy a friendly game of pool or ping-pong.

GIFT SHOP: The gift shop offers souvenirs including caps, t-shirts, cookbooks, Alaskan handicrafts, and postcards.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES: The lodge offers a conference room, with slide projector and screen. Accommodations for conferences, conventions, board meetings, and sales incentive programs are available.
