Sipadan Scuba is a ‘PADI 5-star IDC Training Center and National Geographic Dive Center’, the highest ratings obtainable for dive centers.
Sipadan Scuba is the pioneer of diving at the islands of the Semporna Marine Park and the local leader in professional diving education since 1998. Our core staff have all stayed at Sipadan Island itself in the early 1990’s before joining together to form Sipadan Scuba.
Thanks to a team of highly qualified, multinational divemasters and instructors Sipadan Scuba is able to cater to low budget backpackers as well as highly experienced, seasoned divers looking for the extra adrinalin shot or families with children.
Through years of experience Sipadan Scuba has developed an impeccably efficient operations system and an excellent reputation in customer service, safety, and satisfaction.
The PADI system of diver education is SS's primary instructional tool. Recreational PADI courses from Open Water Diver to Master Scuba Diver and professional courses from Divemaster to Master Instructor are being conducted in all major languages on an ongoing basis. Sipadan Scuba fully supports PADI’s new “Dive Today” program, which is based on “Fun, Fun, Fun” allowing for more flexibility.
As a leader on environmental issues we have spearheaded and remain commited to marine conservation projects in colloberation with Project AWARE and WWF.

Sipadan Island is worldwide known for awesome diving with spectacular marine life found along it’s 600m steep wall that jets out of the ocean floor in the Celebes Sea.

Turtles by the dozens, patrolling reef sharks and a giant tornado of thousands of silvery barracudas that darkens out the sun are just some of the highlights a diver can experience at Sipadan. Those with advanced or specialty training may venture further down the walls and perhaps get eye to eye with the more elusive creatures of the deep such as hammerhead sharks, massive sting rays or giant groupers.

Another highlight of Sipadan, and by many accounts second only to the “Cenotes” of Mexico, is the enormous cave system of the “Turtle Tomb”. A myriad of passageways lead thru the reef some 20m below the surface but this is nothing for the fainthearted as the dead ends are many on the way to the tomb where turtle skulls and bones litter the floor. With the number of divers allowed to visit Sipadan each day being strictly limited a booking well in advance is quintessential. Sipadan Scuba has a boat going to Sipadan every day departing from our dive base at Hotel Sipadan Inn in Semporna each morning at 8.30am and returning after 3 dives at appr. 5.00pm.

An advanced diving certification is highly recommended to dive Sipadan. Prior to a trip to Sipadan all divers are advised to join our dive trips to another island of the Semporna Marine Park where our divemasters will evaluate your diving skills and provide a brush up to those in need. A part of the PADI Advanced course or PADI Specialty courses may be conducted at Sipadan upon request.

Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Tawau airport, pick up and transfer to Semporna, check in and overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 2: Day trip to Sibuan Island incl. 3 dives, return at appr. 5.00pm, overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 3: Day trip to Sipadan Island incl. 3 dives, return at appr. 5.00pm, overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 4: Day trip to Kapala/Mabul Island incl. 3 dives, return at appr. 5.00pm, overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 5: Day trip to Sipadan Island incl. 3 dives, return at appr. 5.00pm, overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 6: Day trip to Mantabuan Island incl. 3 dives, return at appr. 5.00pm, overnight at Hotel Sipadan Inn
Day 7: check out and transfer to Tawau airport

Rooms/Suites

Any age/ gender is welcome at Sipadan Scuba
To those coming with kids we offer the PADI Bubblemaker program that takes kids from 8yrs onwards to dive along actual coral reefs under direct supervision of our instructors.
As we have several boats going out we can group divers according to experience level and special interests, eg underwater photography
To those interested in something well beyond sharks and turtles we conduct guided cavern and cave dives to Sipadan's "Turtle Tomb", the worlds largest, most complex coral cave known.

Amenities

While diving with us our divers stay at the new boutique-style Hotel Sipadan Inn right at the seafront of Semporna. All rooms are equipped with air-con, attached bath with hot water shower, sat TV and wireless internet hotspot.

Breakfast & dinner are served at the Turtle Tomb Cafe at the ground floor, and there are a number of good restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.
