This location is best with a car because the nearest metro station (Huntington Metro Station - end of Yellow Line) is 3 1/2 miles away. However there are a couple of buses that services the neighborhood.

We are also a good location for bycicle riders since we are only 1/2 mile from the Potomac River Trail.

We are located about 20 minutes (about 10 miles) from Washington, DC., 7 miles from Reagan National Airport, 3 1/2 miles from Old Town Alexandria, 5 miles from Mount Vernon, 8 miles from The Pentagon, 9 miles from Arlington Cemetery and many other sight seeing attractions.

Be Aware: This location is best with a car because the nearest metro/subway station (Huntington Station-Yellow Line) is 4 miles away -- there are buses & taxi available. Please don't use map quest to find us -- they don't give good directions for our area
Directions from Greyhound Bus Station/Union Station (Washington, DC) by Public Transportation:
(A taxi ride will cost from $45 to $70 due to traffic and knowledge of driver(negotiate price with taxi driver before getting in the car). It would be less expensive to take the metro to Huntington Station and then take a taxi from there, about $10. From Union Station take Red Line metro towards (Shady Grove) transfer to Yellow Line (towards Huntington) at Gallery Pl/Chinatown (Huntington Station is at the end of the Yellow line). At station exit to the lower level towards the bus stops (not kiss and ride) then take bus 101, 152 or a taxi. Directions from Huntingon Metro Station by Bus.
Exit station down to bus stops. Bus 101 & 152 services the area. Bus 101 stops Two blocks away on Fort Hunt Road and Bus 152 stops on Sherwood Hall Lane a few feet from the mail box. The GuestHouse is located on the right hand side before the end of 2nd block, before you cross WhiteOak Street.

Directions from Huntingon Metro Station by Taxi:Avoid unpleasant surprises, ask the driver how much the fair will cost you before entering the car.
Right onto Huntington Avenue, after 1 mile turn Right onto Fort Hunt Road, go about 3 miles, Right onto Sherwood Hall Lane at 1700. House is located on right side, before end of 2nd block, before you cross WhiteOak Street. Directions from the South (RICHMOND):
95 North towards Washington, DC., after passing exit 169, follow signs to I-95 North/495 West - Baltimore/Alexandria, take Exit 177A towards Route 1 South and Fort Belvoir, then 1st Left onto Fort Hunt Road, go about 3 miles, Right onto Sherwood Hall Lane. House is located on the right before the end of 2nd block, before you cross WhiteOak Street. House number is on mailbox post. Directions from the North (NEW YORK/BALTIMORE):
95 South towards Washington, DC., pass Baltimore, go about 30 miles, at exit 27 (do not exit here) but bear Left, following signs to 95/495 South, drive about 20 miles, go across the Wilson Bridge (Potomac River), Take exit 177C towards Mount Vernon, then Right at first traffic light, go about 3 miles (make sure river is on your left) turn Right onto Morningside Lane, street name will change to Sherwood Hall Lane at 1st traffic light. House is located on Right before the end of 2nd block, before you cross Whiteoaks Street. House number is on mailbox post. Directions from Dulles Airport:
Take Dulles Toll Road towards, Washington, DC., take Exit 18 towards 495 West Richmond/Alexandria. Go about 20 minutes then take Exit 177A towards Route 1 South and Fort Belvoir, then 1st Left onto Fort Hunt Road, go about 3 miles, Right onto Sherwood Hall Lane. House is located on the right before the end of 2nd block, before you cross Whiteoak Street. House number is on mailbox post. Directions from Reagan National Airport:
Take exit "Return to Airport" then follow signs towards GW Parkway South (George Washington Pkwy), after about 2 miles GW Pkwy becomes N Washington Street, after going across town (Old Town Alexandria), start counting 4 miles from King Street, then Right onto Morningside Lane, street name will change to Sherwood Hall Lane at 1st traffic light. House is located on Right before the end of 2nd block, before you cross Whiteoaks Street. House number is on mailbox post
