Corozal is a town with a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, situated on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. The town has a rich and varied history and is a mix of the Mayan and Mexican cultures.
The two Mayan ruins of Santa Rita and Cerros are situated close to the town, Santa Rita within walking distance and Cerros a short boat trip across the bay.
Within the town we have our Craft Museum, Fort and a mural depicting the history of Corozal in our Town Hall.
As Corozal is the ideal base for your tour, we can provide tours to Lamanaii, Altun Ha, Sartaneja and many other locations within Belize, including the Cays.
The bay affords excellent fishing and the surrounding rivers and lagoons offer some fantastic wildlife and bird watching expeditions.
Our greatest assets are the tranquility of our town, the warm friendliness of our townsfolk and the cooling trade winds which will wash over you as you enjoy our beautiful bay.

Accommodations

The Hotel Maya compound is situated within 60 yards of the Caribbean Sea and consists of 2 main buildings incorporating the Rooms, Restaurant and Apartments. We have parking facilities to the front of the hotel and enjoy the shade of Palm Trees along our front.

All of our accommodations are clean, comfortable and very well appointed, with a mix of double occupancy Single rooms, Doubles, Trebles and Apartments.
All rooms have en suite facilities with Hot & Cold water, Air Conditioning or Ceiling/Table Fans, Cable TV.
All beds have Orthopaedic mattresses.

Taxis can take you from Chetumal, Mexico or our local taxis will be able to transport you to us.
By Car
Take the Northern Highway and you will find us at South End Corozal, on the shores of Corozal Bay
By Bus
Simply ask the bus conductor to stop at Hotel Maya in Corozal.
