Description of Active Adventure

Sunrise Balloons is a family owned and operated business and offers flights all year round.We carry 6-8 passengers and encourage our guests to help with the laying out and inflation of the balloon (many hands make light work)Dress for a normal day but remember it is cooler when we fly early in the morning, long trousers are best with sensible shoes.Bring camera and video and plenty of film!

Typical Day

We take off at sunrise when the air is clear and stable.You will see a panorama of lakes and mountains stretching from Mt Cook,(3765m) in the north to Mt Tutoko in Fiordland. Below is a varied landscape of deer, sheep and cattle farms, beautiful gardens and vineyards! After landing and packing the balloon away we enjoy a champagne-style breakfast before returning to Queenstown.In flight and post flight photos are available for purchase. These can also be E-mailed!

Age range, type of group

No age limitation, and if you are fit enough to walk a kilometre, you are fit enough to go hot air ballooning!Children need to be at least 120cms or 4 feet tall.

Restrictions

No smoking is allowed within 30 metres (100 feet) of the balloon system and because we operate on farmland smoking is not advised.

Rates

Flights are NZ$375 per person, NZ$245 for children aged 12 and under.Chidren must be at least 8 years old. Price includes transport to and from the take-off and landing sites, approximately one hour of flight time and a champagne breakfast at the completion of the flight.

Other Information

This is a weather dependent activity and flights are subject to cancellation if weather conditions are unsuitable.
