Description of Active Adventure

Our "Active Discovery" Trips are ideal for avid hikers and nature enthusiasts alike. They are trips that provide each guest with the flexibility to excercise their mind and/or their body. Led by two guides, each day you can choose between guided walking/hiking or a discovery tour focusing on nature, culture, or wildlife. Perfect for people who want to travel together, but have different interests and for those who enjoy a variety of different experiences. Hiking and walking options are considered moderate in that distances are usually between 6 and 12 miles a day with elevation gains of 1,500 to 2,500 ft. Our hiking choices are always at the top of our "reward for effort" scale. - the best the area has to offer. Our discovery tour options are always a unique local cultural or natural experience and are led by one of our professional interpretive guides. Guests choosing the walking options should be in good physical health while the only prerequisite for the discovery day options is enthusiasm!

Typical Day

Each day of either our Roaming the Rockies (Waterton to Banff) or Crown of the Continent (Lake Louise to Jasper) programs is a unique experience. The walking options are always high on the reward for effort scale while the discovery day options can range from visiting World Heritage Sites to discovering the secrets habits of local wildlife.

Age range, type of group

Prerequisites for joining this trip include general good health and a desire to let your mind and your feet roam. Programs are rated from easy to strenuous and can be suitable for persons of all ages.

Sleeping and meals

Accommodations are always are charming inns, lodges, or small comfortable hotels with lots of local flare and history. All breakfasts are included, and 1/2 the dinners.
