Located midway between Calgary and Banff, Kananaskis country is a year-round, multiple use recreational area on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies. Visitors can access over 60 mountain biking paths that double as cross-country ski trails in the winter. The hostel is just minutes from Nakiska ski resort and offers special prices on horseback riding and white-water rafting in the summer. Restaurants and other resort amenaties are available at nearby Kananaskis Village, a 20 minute hike from the hostel. Transportation to the Ribbon Creek hostel from other Alberta
hostels is available between June and September.

Directions
70 kilometres west of Calgary on highway 1 (Trans Canada), then 25 kilometres south on highway 40, turn right at the Nakiska Ski Hill access, cross the Kananaskis River, then left 1.5 kilometres to the hostel.
