Tauca Lea feels like a village within a village, conducive to friendly interchange while protecting your privacy. Large windows and private balconies invite in awe inspiring ocean views.The Resort is located on a connected island off the shores of Barclay Sound. It is surrounded by lush plant and animal life that is so prevalent in the coastal rainforest area. Sea lions and seals can be heard barking in the distance while eagles are often seen soaring overhead or perching in some of the nearby treetops.

Accommodations

Kayaks can be launched from our beach for an afternoon paddle around Ucluelet Inlet where black bear can often be seen on the shore, sea lions rest on logs and rocks or pass by in the water, and eagles fly overhead. Day or multi-day kayak trips to the Broken Group Islands can be arranged. Whalewatching, guided nature hikes and float plane trips to hot springs or for an aerial view are all available.

Rooms/Suites

Each of the one and two bedroom suites is spacious (up to 1,100 square feet), flooded with light and decorated with hand-crafted pine and maple furniture, historic photos, and terra cotta tiles. Each has a large water view, balcony, fully equiped kitchen, a deep soaker tub, a sofa bed, cable TV, stereo, and a leather recliner set before a gas fireplace. Some suites now with jetted hot tub on the private outside deck!

'Tauca Lea' features the contemporary Pacific Cuisine of the on-site 'Boat Basin Restaurant'. Facing Ucluelet's picturesque marina with fireside dining or patio seating designed to soak in the southern exposure!

Our rustically elegant blue-stained cedar lodges are within walking distance of village galleries and gift shops.
