Sailboat

Rent a houseboat and explore the best and safest cruising ground in the Bahamas. The area is 10 miles long by 3 miles wide with miles of white sand beaches and colorful coral reefs to check out. Anchor under the stars in a secluded bay. Swim, snorkel, scuba, or just lay back and enjoy.
The waters around 75 degrees year round. each houseboat is fully equipped with air conditioning, fridge freezer, full cooking facilities including a barbecue. All boats have a waterslide for children of all ages.

Destinations

Around the harbour you will find protected anchorages by white sandy beaches or coral reefs teeming with fish. Visit the ruins on Crab Cay or walk across Stocking Island to visit the Atlantic beach which stretches for miles and is often deserted. Enjoy a visit from a dolphin or ray. Search for conch among the sea grass. Walk across Sand Dollar beach at low tide and collect some Sand Dollars lying on the surface. Dive for lobster for your dinner. Or alternatively just soak up the year round sun and down a cool Kalik or a Bahama Mama.

Typical Day

Get up when YOU want to and admire the view from your floating home. Snorkel a nearby reef. Explore by dinghy, another deserted bay and maybe we'll see a school of Bonefish. Lunch at one of the bars on the beach then a game of volleyball with some folks off the yachts. Snooze. Slide down the waterslide into water that is around 80 degrees. Move to a new location (can't do that in a hotel room) where the coral heads are nearby and snorkel around, maybe we will catch a Grouper and barbecue it tonight. Then we will watch the sunset from top deck and be amazed at the stars in numbers like you never see in the City.

Age range, type of group

This is the vacation for children of all ages, from 9 till 90. Each time they come back to the dock, to refill with water or to spend a night at the dock while they sample the towns restaurants, they have a story to tell. Sometimes they have seen the biggest ray, sometimes a dolphin circled the boat, sometimes they have found a fantastic conch shell.

Sleeping and meals

The 35ft houseboat sleeps 2 in luxury, 4 in comfort! The 43ft sleeps 4 in luxury, 6 in comfort. The galley has a gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, barbecue, full cooking utensils and kitchenware. All linens are provided including beach towels. The boats hold 100 gallons of water. If you dont want to cook then try one of the local restaurants and have a Bahamian special such as Cracked Conch. Fresh Grouper. or Conch salad.

Other Information

the temperature in The Southern Bahamas is rarely higher than 90 and rarely less than 75. We have sunshine most day of the year and the sea temperature is between 75 and 80 degrees.
We are located 90 minutes flying time from Miami or Fort Lauderdale Florida. Flights arrive regularly from Miami, Ft Lauderdale and Nassau.
