Surrounding Area

Set in the ancient Granite Highlands of Central Ontario, the area boasts incredible landscapes of towering granite rock and marble surrounded by thousands of acres of both hard and soft woods. Known as the mineral capital of Canada, Bancroft hosts the annual rock-hounding festival every August, where collectors come to trade and dig from all around the world. The region is also known for its splendid autumn foliage, the abundance of wildlife and in winter, excellent conditions for cross-country skiing and snow shoeing.
