We hunt Sheep (dall & fannin) Moose, Caribou and Grizzly. All hunting
is done by horseback, except for climbing. We have primitive cabins scattered throughout the area. Some of the camps site may be tents. These hunts are like the old time hunts you read about. It is a great opportunity to experience what the pioneers lived. In the Yukon each hunter has to have a guide. We usually only take 4 hunters at one time. We can do photo trips also. The trips are 10 and 14 days long, photo trips would be 7 days. Hunting season is August-October. The weather is warm at the beginning of the season and will have some snow by the end of the season.
A typical day would be to get up at 6am have breakfast and leave camp with your guide. You would be riding horses. As you rode the valley floors you would be glassing for animals. If you were hunting sheep you would tie your horse up and climb the mountain. After hunting all day you would return to the camp and your guides would cook you dinner. The cabins have 4 bunks in them so 2 guides and 2 hunters can go to them. You stay at basecamp on your arrival and return to basecamp on the last day of your 10 or 14 day hunt. The next day you would be returned to the airport in Dawson City.
Age range, type of group
Most of your a clients are men aged anywhere from 20 to 75.
Sleeping and meals
All sleeping is in sleeping bags. You would bring your own sleeping bag. Most areas have primitive cabins. We do have some tent camps. Cooking is done on a portable propane burner. You eat the meat that you harvest. Pack horses are taken on the trip. They carry all the necessary food and equipment.
