Safari in remote Southern Tanzania

Afric'Aventure is organizing safaris in the Southern part of Tanzania.

This part is less known then the Northern part, but certainly as interesting in term of fauna:
• Ruaha hosts 12,000 elephants, which is the biggest population of any national park in Tanzania and offers an unusual combination of East and Southern African wildlife
• Selous hosts the biggest population of wild dogs
• In Katavi herds of buffalos, hundreds of hyppos and thousands of elephants can be seen.
• Mahale is the ultimate location for chimpanzee safaris, …

If the fauna is rich and dense, the tourist population is not. Accommodation is usually made of small lodges of 10/15 tents or bandas. This gives a feeling of exclusiveness, inside of the camp as well as outside, in the nature.

As we want you to travel your safari, we’ll create it “à la carte”, listening to your wishes. You are most welcome to tell us what you want, to ask us as many questions or changes as you want.

Typical Day

A day in Selous Game Reserve:
Two safaris per day, one early morning, one in the afternoon, at your choice: 4wd game drive, walking safari or boat safari (we recommend walking safaris in the morning, and boat safaris in the afternoon).
At the hottest hours of the days, farniente at the swimming pool or at your tent.
Full board accommodation at Impala Tented Camp, along the Rufiji River.

Age range, type of group

Every one who is ready to pay the price to have a wonderful and different experience!
The safaris are not recommended for children under six.

Sleeping and meals

We have chosen the lodges and camps for your safaris because they offer a good ration quality / price or because they have a great character.
We have visited most of them and offer them to you because we personally love them.

Policies & Restrictions

Sorry, no pets: they are not allowed in the parks!

Rates

An minimum of 350 USD per day for the safaris, including full board accomodation, safaris, transport, park fees and local evacuation cover.
An minimum of 150 USD per day for the beach stays, including half board accomodation or bed & breakfast accomodation, transport and local evacuation cover.

We have the Tanzanian Business Licence nr 00915506 as Tour Operator, the Tourist Agent Licence class A nr 00010423 and we are member from the Tanzania Association of Tour Operator.
