Active Adventure

Our sea kayaking expeditions all originate in Vancouver, BC, with hotel pickup and all transport in government licensed expedition vehicles. Groups may be from 4 to 8 participants with two qualified experienced guides. Activity level is easy (paddling with the wind) to moderate (paddling against the wind), and you do not need to be an olympian athlete by any means - just reasonably fit and healthy. No prior experience required - tours are novice friendly but still fun for accomplished paddlers.

Typical Day

A full and healthy breakfast prepared by our guides will get you started. We usually paddle for approximately 2 hours either side of a long leisurely lunch stop on a quiet beach, often on small islands. There are many opportunities for swimming in clear water bays, nature hikes, exploring the fascinating shoreline, relaxing in camp, photographing wildlife and learning new kayak skills if you wish. Finish up with a gourmet dinner and a glass of wine to toast another glorious west coast sunset. Camp fires where and when permitted.

Age range, type of group

Our trips attract adventurers in all shapes and sizes, from all over the world. Our youngest adventurers are often better off having a custom family departure, but if you are old / young enough to paddle then you will be most welcome on any trip! You do not need any prior kayaking experience - we start with a lesson on day one.

Sleeping and meals

All of our trips are camping based, and we use the most beautiful backcountry campsites in all locations. We provide tents and inflatable matresses with pillows, and either bring your own sleeping bag or use one of ours. All delicious and nutritious meals are included and prepared by your guides in camp. Do not come on one of our trips if you are dieting, it would be a waste.

Restrictions

No pets - unless they can swim very fast for sustained periods.

We are the only licensed sea kayaking outfitter in BC to include Vancouver hotel pickup and door-to-door service.
Our equipment is the best available and replaced annually. Fibreglass Seaward kayaks, carbon fibre ultra-light paddles (illiminate fatigue and sore wrists), comfortable pfd's, top quality tents and Thermarests, luxury 2005 expedition vehicles with cd and a/c, etc .

We also offer multi-activity trips with whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking in the Coast Mountians of BC - a great way to sample many outdoor pursuits on one vacation!
