Independent Summers specialise in creating bespoke summer holidays for our guests. You can stay in our luxury catered chalet and enjoy a warm and friendly environment druing you holiday with us. Being in the French Alps you can enjoy the delicious Savoyard food and the sample the many amazing wines that France has to offer.

We are based in Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets and the surrounding Alps and whilst staying in either a catered chalet or self catering apartment, we can make sure you get the most out of your summer holiday by being there for you and giving you a truly first class service.

We aim to tailor make each holiday to incorporate exactly the kinds of activities you want to do. You can choose from a huge list of things to do each day during your summer holiday of if you're after something more leisurely then our chalets, with their beautiful gardens and balconies, are the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Walking and Hiking

Having lived here for 8 years, we know the area very well. We can offer you specialist guided walks that will show off the area and all that it has to offer. Whether you enjoy long days on the mountain walking or hiking, or something nice and easy, we will design a holiday for YOU!! We don't do a set week of walks, we tailor make every holiday to suit each group so that you can get the most from your break away.

Morzine and its surrounding valleys, in summer, offer some of the most beautiful views and countryside in the French Alps. There are numerous lakes, waterfalls and alpine meadows, and with the local wildlife, you will not be disappointed by how much there is to see and do.

We love the area we live in, and hope to share a piece of it with all who come and stay. We offer a very personal service, and create for you a home away from home environment so that you can relax and enjoy your holiday.

Fun and Relaxation

Any day during your holiday would be completely down to what you'd like to do. You let us know and we will organise it for you!!!

Generally, as there is so much to do, our guests rise early to amazing alpine views and breakfast either inside or outside on the balcony. If an active day has been planned then we will take you to your destination and, as we love it so much, will probably participate with you.

Summer Holidays for All the Family

If you are holidaying as a family then you and the kids will truly enjoy the amount of activities there are to do. We have a whole host of activites especially for children so if you fancy relaxing you can drop the kids off and then head for the sunny garden with a bottle of local Rose.

There are also a huge number of activities that the whole family can participate in so you can go home with memories you'll keep for ever.

Sleeping and meals

We will cater to your every need. The food we serve in the evening is of a very high standard. On a weekly catered chalet holiday we will serve a three course meal with wine on 5 nights of the week. One of the evenings we will do an outdoor BBQ so our guests can enjoy the beautiful evening sunsets.

Rates

Prices for Cater Chalet

Our rates per person start at 360 Euros and go up to only 480 Euros for a weeks stay in our beautiful catered chalet.

(360 Euros is about 400 USD - 480 Euros is about 550 USD)

We also do Bed and Breakfast during the summer season.

Other Information

Winter Ski and Snowboard Holidays

During the winter ski season (December to April) we offer exclusive ski holidays and snowboard holidays in our beautiful catered chalet.

Having lived in Morzine for over 8 years, we know the area and the local people very well. We offer a very personal service and our aim is to help you get the most out of your ski holiday in the French Alps. We can point you in the right direction when it comes to the best restaurants, best bars and most importantly, the best ski areas.

The Portes Du Soleil is the largest linked ski area in the world, and is made up of twelve French and Swiss resorts. It boasts some 650 km of piste in the winter.

Also we offer you 3 days of guiding on the mountain and have partnership deals with Duotone Snowboard, Julbo Eyewear and Broke Clothing.

The area we live in plays host to numerous events that are extremely enjoyable. Below are just a few of the major events that you can see when holidaying with Alpine Walks:

Evian Masters - 23rd to 26th June Golf

Launched in 1994 the Evian Masters tournament is now one of the most important women's golf competitions in the world. With its place on both the American Tour (LPGA) and the European Tour (Evian Tour), each year the Evian Masters brings together the greatest women champions, ready to offer their best golf and to play with the public's emotions.

Anytime during the summer season you can try out the course for yourself.

Free Raid Classic - 27th to 29th June Mountain Biking

The "RENDEZ-VOUS" of the MountainBike Planet
5th Anniversary

The mountain bike season in the Portes du Soleil gets a big boost on the last weekend in June with the VTT Mag Free Raid Classic and the "Mondial du VTT" Mountain Bike Exhibition.

The 76 km long orienteering course in the Portes du Soleil will be tackled by more than 3000 mountain bikers. 76 km of varied and fun terrain in breathtaking scenery criss-crossing the French-Swiss border.

NEW IN 2003 : The "Free Raid Kids Classic"

Now children can also ride on the mythical "Portes du Soleil" area !
Children from 12 to 16 will ride about 3 hours, accompanied by French MTB Instructors (Moniteurs Cyclistes Franç¡©s - MCF)

Tour de France - 12th July Road Cycling

On the 12th July 2003 the Tour de France comes to Morzine where the finishing line for the stage will be situated in the centre of town. This is an extremely prestigous event to have and will certainly prove to be an incredibly busy and vibrant time for all those holidaying in Morzine at the time. The Tour de France is now the top annual cycling event in the world and this is its centenary year.

We have a number of special holidays to commemorate the visit of the Tour de France allowing you to get the most out of this once in a lifetime experience.

Rally - TBA (Normally September) Rallying

Morzine plays host to both a night rally stage and a day stage. Watch these top of the range rally cars get put through their paces by these rally drivers up and down mountain roads with hairpin bends and scary drops.

World Cup Downhill 2003 - Les Gets - Mountain Biking

Mt Ché²¹ permanent downhill course has been a World Cup run in, 1996, 98, 99, 2000 and 2002. It will again be hosting the event this summer which all the worlds top downhill riders will be attending. Les Gets can be accessed easily using the lift system.

The downhill course is maintained and secured at all times so you can try out the course at any time during summer.

Montreux Jazz Festival - 4th to 19th July Music
This world famous festival is hosted every year just outside of Montreux. Our catered chalet is the perfect place to use as a base when visiting.
