Description of Active Adventure

We run remote wilderness trips from 4 to 8 days long.No crowded huts and we rarely see other parties. We stay at pre-placed camp sites which means you only carry a light pack. All you need is appropriate clothing, a good pair of walking shoes or hiking boots and a spirit of adventure. You will welcome the comfort of our fantastic home away from home. Our astonishing food is only outdone by the mountain scenery.What makes Wild Walks different? Quality not quantity1. Small trips of 5 clients max.If your definition of a small group is hiking with 12 people, you probably don't want what Wild Walks offers. Most of the areas we go to would be impossible to visit in groups 12 or more. We don't run our trips based on how many people can fit in a bus or minivan. Our groups are based on how many people we can safely take to a remote area with the least impact. 2. Professional mountain guides. And that is all we do. We are not transport operators who take you on a whirlwind tour of the South Island. We provide discerning clients with an intimate wilderness experience. 3. The best guides. Our guides are paid well, live here, and have intimate knowledge of the area. They enjoy what they are doing and strive to share that passion with you. Most importantly, everyone of them is a whole lot of fun to be in the hills with.4. 20 years experience This allows us to take you where others can't. Typical Day

Whitney is an internationally qualified U.I.A.G.M. mountain guide who has skied and climbed throughout New Zealand since 1979. He is the Training Officer of the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. His passion is exploring New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Whitney has over 40 ascents of Mount Aspiring.

In addition to his work with the N.Z. Mountain Guides Association Whitney has worked, skied, trekked and climbed throughout the world. He won the 1990 World Telemark Giant Slalom Championships and won four North American Telemark Championships.
