Mar Huron Costa Rica Sportfishing offers a unique sport fishing experience in a fishing destination like no other in Costa Rica.

Your own private, fully staffed villa, located across from the pier. Our town is located on the volcanic coastline of the Gulfo Dulce. On-site live-in management on the spacious waterfront property. In town ammenities from groceries to night life are steps away.

The Marisqueria Corcovado is THE spot to bring your catch of the day (and try a little salsa dancing!) - it's just a stroll up the road on the waterfront promenade.

The town is a vibrant way to enjoy your stay while fishing the most diverse fishing destination in Costa Rica.


This area is best known for it's excellent billfishing (Marlin & Sailfish) just 10-20 miles offshore. It is also famous for it's inshore fishing (Roosterfish, Snapper, Grouper) which is so close you can literally catch pargo in the mangrove off the 2nd floor of the villa!

Typical Day

It's your fishing trip - we start when you want to.

We make bait daily and the boat is ready to leave the dock anytime after 6:30 a.m.Inshore fishing is just minutes away along the volcanic coastline of the Golfo Dulce.

Mangrove estuaries spot this tropical fjord and offer abundant opportunities. Offshore fishing is about a 15 minute run time.

We fish the calm Pacific Ocean just miles north of Barica, Panama.

Age range, type of group

Family, couples, singles, youths, children and seniors will all find this area to provide a comfortable fishing and exploration atmosphere.

Sleeping and meals

The Mar Huron owns and operates a luxury villa located beachfront in Puerto Jimenez.

The villa is 3000 sq ft and boasts 3 levels of luxury living space as well as a roof-top pool and 360 degree views!

We also have an on-site cabina, set backing the mangrove. We've been tending to the gardens, to maximize monkey and scarlet macaw visits! Monkeys are tame enough to hand feed!

Surrounded by tropical gardens and backed by mangrove estuary, we recieve daily visits from exotic wildlife such as parrots, scarlet macaws, monkeys, snakes, iguanas and more.
