Description of Active Adventure

We offer multisport adventures because we know you are busy and your vacation time is precious. You want to enjoy a region to the fullest extent, and that's best achieved by having a variety of different experiences and perspectives - and by giving your backside a break from the bike seat! We carefully select our mix of activities, each designed to complement the region's landscape and terrain.

During the Death Valley Adventure, you will enjoy 3 days of biking ranging in milage from 10 to 30 miles with an option to tack on an additional 20-30 miles on 2 out of 3 days. We will embark on 3 different hikes through the mountains and canyons, and you will have access to the luxurious, spring-fed swimming pool at the Furnace Creek Inn during your entire adventure!

Typical Day

So what's it like? Here is a brief look at a typical day on your Black Sheep Adventures vacation!

8:11 am At breakfast you realize you've forgotten what day of the week it is - ahh, vacation!

8:35 am After the brief logistics meeting where you learn about the day's activities, you pack the day's snacks and water provided by your friendly trip leaders. You can't imagine how you're going to eat your way through all this stuff, but it looks yummy, and maybe you'll do the Hammer option today!

9:12 am You begin biking with one of the leaders. She teaches you a better shifting technique. Man, the riding seems so much easier all of a sudden.

9:34 am Stopping to take a picture at a panoramic vista point, you realize you are really enjoying your vacation. Job? What job?

10:27 am You take a private walking tour of a small art museum with the rest of the group. You think, "Wow, how did they find this great little place?"

11:16 am Stop at a caf� for a cappuccino and something sweet with two other guests you've been riding with today.

1:26 pm You enjoy another helping of the pear-walnut salad (while eyeing the chocolate covered strawberries for dessert) from the gourmet picnic lunch your leaders have prepared. Now you're thinking, "It's a good thing I'm getting all this exercise!"

2:13 pm Deciding to opt for a little afternoon relaxation, you hop in the support van with the van driver and return to the hotel.

3:02 pm Lounging by the pool, you finish that new best seller you've been dying to read.

4:58 pm Strolling around town, you run into a few other guests who are out window-shopping and decide to join them.

7:33 pm The first course arrives. You savor the delicious gourmet cuisine at the Michelin-starred restaurant in the hotel.

8:41 pm Over your second glass of wine, you tell that funny story of what that cow did as you rode by a local farm that afternoon; everyone laughs. (Well ok, most everyone).

9:47 pm Finishing up dinner, you join a few other guests at a local pub and have a fun night out on the town.

???? pm You head off to bed! Drifting off to sleep you dream of the next day's activities! Ahh, vacation.

Age range, type of group

Who will you be traveling with on a Black Sheep Adventures vacation? Simple. It's folks just like you! Our guests are intelligent, active, outgoing, busy young professionals who choose to travel with us because of our well-researched and activity-rich itineraries, unique destinations, flexible activity options, professional, fun, and knowledgeable leaders, and because they want to get out there and explore the world with a small group of like-minded people. Typically our guests are between the ages of 25 and 45, and we offer trips geared towards couples and singles. Singles Trips are geared for those who are traveling alone or with a group of friends while Couples Trips are ideal for couples who want the trip details taken care of for them but also want the flexibility to venture off on their own! Children are not welcome on our scheduled adventures, however special arrangements can be made for a private group or family trip.

Sleeping and meals

Lodging:
The historic Furnace Creek Inn provides a luxurious landing pad at each day's end, including a spring-fed swimming pool, restaurant, a museum and loads of unique character.

Meals:
Play hard and eat well. That's one of our mottos at Black Sheep Adventures, and our vacations more than deliver when it comes to fantastic cuisine. We alternate between formal dining and casual evenings out, giving you a chance to step out or just veg out. Most meals we eat together as a group, but you are invited to enjoy two lunches and one dinner on your own at the restaurant of your choosing, so you can further sample the local eateries at your own pace and taste.

6-day Adventure: $2,175
Single supplement: $575

Trip price is per person based on double occupancy. The single supplement is charged to those desiring single occupancy. Those traveling alone who book within 30 days of trip start who we cannot place with a same-sex roomate will also be charged the single supplement. Singles who are willing to have a same-sex roommate and who book 31 or more days prior to trip start are NOT required to pay the single supplement.

Trip price does not include airfare, other transportation costs, or any other pre- or post-trip costs. Also excluded are alcohol, gratuities for leaders, and other personal expenses such as long-distance calls and hotel incidentals.
