The Loire Valley does not need too much of an introduction; It is known as the garden of France, fine wines, fine food - all are grown in this lovely region.
The Kings and Queens of previous years obviously thought that the area was a good one, for it is here that you will find all the famous Chateaux and gardens ranging from Amboise, Chambord, Chenonceau, Azay Le Rideau and Saumur.
It is also the home of The Cadre Noir in Saumur (classical dressage for horses), Troglodyte villa
ges built into the local stone, Futuroscope etc..

Our whole Classic car group stayed at La Prairie and some other Gites nearby - we had a great time ..plenty of parking for the cars! ..and a lovely place to rest our heads at night after lots of driving and visiting Chateaux and Vineyards.
We even rode the horses and had some cooking lessons arranged by Samantha with a lovely French lady!! ... more

We have spent our summer holidays at La Prairie. Our children loved riding the horses, fishing in the pond and using the swimming pool.
They are already insisting that we return next year!
We even had good weather !!
