Description of Boat

Alaska Yacht Charters operates two motor vessels in Alaska. The Alaskan Song is a custom aluminum 96 foot motoryacht with two 15 foot Boston whalers and two double kayaks. The Alaskan Story is a 90 foot Westport fiberglass motor yacht with a 17 foot Boston Whaler and an additional inflatable skiff. She also has two double kayaks. Both vessel are similar in layout with four double staterooms with bathrooms ensuite. They are immaculate, fast, comfortable, and luxurious yachts.

Destinations

The itinerary is determined both by the experience of the owners and the interests of the clients. Most of our adventures are cruises between Sitka and Juneau. We visit probably the most beautiful place in Alaska, Tracy Arm. There after navigating a 20 mile long fjord, dodging icebergs the size of houses we will reach the magnificent tidewater Sawyer Glacier.
We will visit remote islands in Frederick Sound, large bays like Pybus on Admirality Island and hot sprints in several locations.

Typical Day

This certainly depends on the interests of the clients. While breakfast is being prepared in the Galley some clients may choose to kayak or boat ashore for a hike. After breakfast we may head to our next destination stopping to watch whales or to fish for salmon or halibut. Arriving early at our anchorage the clients may fish for salmon or trout in the streams, kayak or go in the skiffs to watch for brown bears. We will put out our crab and shrimp pots for tomorrows lunch and dinner. Dinner tonight will be a King salmon caught that day by one of the guests.

Age range, type of group

We have had children as young as 3 months and elders as old as 92. Probably 75% of our groups involve 2 to 4 couples who have traveled together and have been friends for some time. We also have families of 4 to 10 persons some of whom have been with us as many as 8 times.

Sleeping and meals

Each of our two vessels has four guest staterooms with bathrooms and showers ensuite. The Alaskan Story has two staterooms with two large twins and two with Queen size walk-around beds. The Alaskan Song has two cabins with two doubles and two with two very large twins. All meals are prepared by our chefs of only the freshest ingredients including salmon, halibut, crab and shrimp caught during the cruise. The cuisine is truely exquisite and a highlight of the week

Smoking is only allowed outside on the decks

Rates & Availability

All trips are for 9 days and 8 nights. We provide for the hotels in Sitka and Juneau (the best available) pick up and return to hotels, and all inclusive 7 days and 6 nights on yacht. Cost for 4 persons on the Alaskan Song is $24,000 and $2,000 more per each additional persons up to 10..

Cost for the Alaskan Story is $26,000 for four and $2,000 more per each additional person up to 9

Discounts Offered

10% discount for charters in May and September. Trips north and South at beginning and end of year are 10 days for the price of discounted 7.
