Estrella de Paraiso is a private natural reserveincluding nearly 400 acres of forested land. It has two spacious and well appointedapartments of new construction available to travelers who prefer to stay slightly off the beaten path. At only 5 minutes by car from Nicoya, and 25 minutes from some of the best beaches in the country, it offers a good base from which to explore the surrounding areas.Located in the center of the warm and sunny Guanacaste peninsula, Nicoya is a typical small Costa Rican town, relaxed and friendly, with traditions of folklore and music. Here the traveler can find all that he needs in local shops. There is also a good selection of restaurants offering typical as well as international food, at reasonable prices.Activities: walking tours, horseback riding, beach trips, visits to nearby national parks (Barra Honda, Tempisque), surfing (excellent), diving, birdwatching

A large variety of birds come here to visit or make their nests. In the surrounding lands you are sure to see the famous howler monkeys, but will also see other wild animals, including deer, opossum, armadillos, iguanas, and other animals.

Description of Rooms/Suites

Two appartments, each with 1 Bedrooms - 1 Baths - Sleeps 4 adults plus 2-4 childrenThe house consists of two independent apartments of recent construction, in rustic style, with all wood and brick interiors and exteriors. They are spacious and best suited for couples, but also have additional beds to sleep up to 4 persons. Each apartment has a full kitchen, which is completely equipped, a living/dining room, bedroom with large double bed, bathroom with shower and plenty of hot water. The apartments feature a large veranda from which you can savor a view over 50 kilometers of marvellous green hills and the distant Gulf of Nicoya. There are other outbuildings (cabanas) ideal for being alone or for relaxing in rope hammocks.

Services Offered

During your stay, a guide is available for hiking and horseback tours. A maid cleans the appartments regularly. Estrella de Paraiso guarantees a warm welcome and ready assistance to all visitors.

Rates & Availability

One couple with 1-2 small children normally rent the larger appartment. For two couples, or families with older children, we normally rent both appartments, at a slight increase to the rental cost.

Breakfast is offered at $5 per person, please reserve the day before.

From Nicoya take highway towards Samara, after 4 KM arrive in Curime, turn right, go less than 1 KM, arrive at owner's house on left, name on entrance way - Betts. Telephone before arrival to insure we are there.
