Typical Day

Your Latin Trails Guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, you will head towards your next destination in a private vehicle. Half the fun will be getting there with many stops along the way leaving the beaten path and going off road. ie. on our Otavalo indigenous communities trip, we pass through at least 4 artisan workshops, visit 3 indigenous villages, meet 2 indigenous families and explore the largest craft market in South America. All this surrounded by volcanoes and lakes. Your guide will give onsite lectures and introduce you to local culture, if you prefer to be more active you have the option to hike around Cuicocha crater lake - a beautiful 4 hour walk inside the Cotacachi Cayapas reserve, you still get to visit the market, but you will skip a couple villages. Our tours are very flexible and our tailored to the interest of our travellers.

Sleeping and meals

We sleep at colonial haciendas, indigenous family homes, and 5 star hotels, we select properties by hand offering the best value for your money. Having regional offices all over South America allows us to negotiate the best rates for lodging and get to know the nicest and most enchanting places. We select lodging according to your interests. Our favourites are locally owned properties allowing the money to stay in the country of destination.

Policies & Restrictions

Our tours are geared to all ages, gender and interests, we customize each itinerary. Pets, smokers and other people with special needs will be offered private departures at a great rate that is similar to that of a group rates.

Rates

The price depends on the hotel category and your travel interests. A 5 star hotel in Quito can be booked for $100 per night which is a real bargain offered due to our local presence. We can also obtain $30 per night and less for small hostels and B&B. You name your price, we will find the tour for you.
