Base Auckland is located in the heart of the city, central to shops, caf�s, museums and the Sky tower. It's only a few minutes' walk to train, bus and ferry terminals and Vector Arena. The airport bus (Airbus) stops right outside our door!
Our quality hostel offers comfy beds in a clean, modern and secure environment. Our rooms range from private en-suite doubles to small and large dorms. Our facilities include 24-hour reception, patrolled security, swipe card access, a high-speed wireless internet caf�, a large modern kitchen with communal area and laundry, luggage storage, two Sky TV lounges, and travel centres. We are also home to the Globe Bar, featuring nightly entertainment and theme nights!
All rooms have fridges and fully made-up beds with hotel-quality linen for free, including a pillow and duvet. There's under-bed lockers in the multi-share rooms and we also offer the Base Sanctuary wing - rooms for girls only.
Our facilities include 24-hour reception, patrolled security, swipe card access, a high-speed wireless internet caf�, a large modern kitchen with communal area and laundry, luggage storage and two chilled-out Sky TV lounges. We're also home to the Globe Bar, featuring nightly entertainment and theme nights.

Directions
International airport:
Once through customs, turn right. This will take you to the bus, shuttle and taxi rank areas outside the glass doors of the building. The Airbus is on the extreme right, past the taxi rank. An Airbus leaves every 20 min, 24 hours a day - this is the cheapest ride into Auckland. They will drop you at our door.
Driving to Base Auckland:
Head to Queen Street - this is the main street of Auckland and is marked on every map. Driving down Queen Street, turn left onto Darby Street. This is a smaller street between Victoria and Wellesley Street. You'll see our doorway five metres down Darby St and there's a car park 20 metres further down Darby Street.
Heading back to the airport:
When you want to return to the Airport, remember to get your Airbus ticket at reception and get our discounted rate! The Airbus pick-up is just across the street from Base Auckland and runs 24hrs a day. Shuttles can be booked for a specific pick-up time, 24hrs a day also. You can take a taxi to and from the airport, but as it's 22km from downtown to the airport the fare is much higher than a shuttle or Airbus. If you do take a taxi ask at the reception for a discounted flat rate from the city to the airport.
Remember - Customs and Immigration require you to check in two hours before your flight. It�s wise to check in one hour prior to domestic flights, and don�t forget to add travel time to this when you arrange your pickup.
