Calypso takes you back to the roots of backpacking, a true travellers rest.
Built on years of experience, and a great reputation, Calypso is very different to your average hostel, it's simply excellent! With atmosphere served chilled and relaxed, great staff and very clean facilities.

We just love it, looking after people on their travels, and we reckon we are pretty good at it. Between us we have more than 60 years experience in living and loving the Backpacking industry here in Cairns.

The hostel is well maintained,with lots of character, and the facilities are excellent. Use our modern self catering kitchens to cook up a storm while enjoying a nice cold drink from our in house bar. This is the meeting place for everyone at the Calypso. Funky music ensuring a mello mood all day long. Huge beautiful gardens makes this place like 'a little slice of Jamaica!'

Free pick up from Airport or bus station during office hours 7am - 10pm (please call when you've arrived in Cairns) When booking, please advise arrival method and time. Please reconfirm booking 24 hours in advance on free call number provided on your conformation email. If arrival is outside office hours we will advise alternative arrangements. Please print receipt of deposit paid, thank you!
