Nagano (Hakuba), Japan Youth Hostels

We are located in central Japan-Japan Alps area where some of 1998's Nagano Winter Olympic Games were held.

It is approximately 3 hours connection from Tokyo by shinkansen (bullet train) and bus to Hakuba. Lots of natural and beautiful surroundings such as mountains, forests, lakes and streams are in the area.

Our accommodation is a cozy wooden one, so you can relax when you stay with us, escaping from crowded big cities. Also, you can find some old historical/cultural items in this area like straw roof houses, old temples, shrines.

As for activities, you can enjoy kayaking, paragliding, rafting, mountain biking, mountaineering, hiking, fishing and tennis from spring to autumn, you can try skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing in winter. Hot springs are also available throughout the year.

And now a HO gauge (16.5mm gauge) model train layout is under construction - actually you can drive trains but still the construction continuously goes ahead slowly.

Cancellation policy.(apart from the 10% non refund deposit on your booking)
Accommodation day or later : 100 % of your balance
1 day prior to your arrival day : 60% of your balance
2 days prior to your arrival day : 45% of your balance
7-3 days prior to your arrival day : 30% of your balance

Curfew : 23:00 (11 p.m.) If you arrive after 23:00, please notice it to us in advance.
No smoking policy in all the bed rooms.

Directions

*6-7minutes on foot from Kamishiro station,
Turn to the right having the station house on your back. Go strainght on to a railroad crossing and turn right there. Go on about 200 meters from the railroad crossing, you will find our place on your right.

*6-7 minutes on foot both from Hakuba Goryu bus stop.
When you get to the bus stop, you will see a drug store Fujinoya there. Turn to the right having Fujinoya on your back to walk straight on to Hakuba Goryu crossing. Turn right there to go on, you will pass a railroad crossing. Keep going about 200 meters, you will find our place on your right.

Please check timetable carefully. Services are not avaiable especially late at night.
