Guesthouse Zakaria

Guesthouse Zakaria is centrally located in historical part of Hvar town. It is a good spot to meet other traveler and island-hopper, providing a spacious communal terrace with a cooking facilities. It´s multilingual staff will guarantee easy communication.
It is near to all downtown events, yet far enough to enjoy the tranquility of the cozy and quaint pedestrian area.
It is a traditional stone built house surrounded by gardens in a homelike ambiance. It is a short walking distance to all the shops and restaurants along the sea shore, and not much further to the first beach.

#1: the connections from Mainland:
*Split - Hvar Town; the best and most convenient way is by catamaran; these depart from Split at 11:30, 15:00 ,17:00..
(buy the tickets as soon as possible). Alternatively you can take a ferry to Stari Grad (only recommended if departing after 17:00) and then catch a shuttle from there to Hvar town - hurry to ketch the bus- which is much cheaper than a taxi.
*Dubrovnik - Hvar; the bus connection via Split goes approx every two hours

#2:There are two ways to get House-Zakaria depending on where you're coming from. Either way it's just a 5 minute walk.
1) If you're landing (by catamaran) in Hvar Town Harbor….
- -Turn left as you get off the boat and walk along the harbor for about 80 meters until the Pizzeria MAMA LEONA. Take the narrow footpath to the left of MAMA LEONA, from where a pedestrian lane goes straight up the hill. As soon you past a small pedestrian lane, start to climb the steep flower-decorated stairs for about 50 meters (51 steps).
- At the top of these stairs take a left, then a hard right and continue walking up (about 30 meters/22 steps)
- Turn left again ( 5 meters) and then another hard right and continue climbing another 30 meters (19 steps) until you reach a plateau.
- From here you'll see an abandoned house which splits the staircase. Take the steps on the left and walk up final 30 meters (or 31 steps) and you'll find a black metal gate on your right just after a small garden...- Welcome to our House!

2) If you're arriving to Hvar town by bus from Stari Grad.
- Head for the main square (about 50m from the bus station). Once you're there cross the tower and the church front to the other corner of the square. Turn left again and go into a narrow alley (pedestrian street) flanking the church.
- Take the first set of steps on your right, up to the tapas restaurant Konoba LUVIJI. Continue walking up another 10 meters past this restaurant, keeping it on the right. Soon you face a wall with a big tree above it.
- Take the narrow steps to the right of the wall, directly behind a large barrel and follow these steep steps [3 flights] around the tree until you reach the top. Turn left into the street then take the first set of stairs on your right.
- Follow this steep staircase to the top end of it, where you reach a plateau facing our house. Turn bit to the right walk few meters to a black metal gate and open it-Welcome to our house!

Keep in mind that our house is within the pedestrian area (walking up the hill) and - if you cross a car street - it means that you have missed our house.
