Casale Giancesare

Our hostel is located in an old 19th century stone farmhouse which has been completely renovated and stands on the hills overlooking the valley of the temples at Paestum.

Immersed in the countryside among olive trees, mulberry trees and vineyards, in a panoramic position, there is a balcony overlooking a 40 kilometre gulf of long golden beaches, where the coast of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano meets the Amalfi coast. In the horizon one can see Capri, the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean, reachable in an hour from the ports of Agropoli and Salerno.

The proximity of the temples at Paestum, the ruins of a castle, which is linked with the history of Federic II, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Granato (11th century) and of Getsemani, the beaches which were scene of the American landing during the Second World War, place the farmhouse in the centre of the most relevant historical events of the last 2500 years.

Guests can choose between double rooms in bed and breakfasts and mini apartments with kitchenette that can accommodate up to 5 people, all with air conditioning, TV and private bathrooms.

Guests have full use of the large swimming pool situated in a relaxing garden.
Upon request, they may also reserve beach umbrellas on Paestum's most beautiful beaches.

Directions

Take the freeway Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit to Battipaglia, taking S.S. 18 for Paestum and Cilento. After approximately 15 Km exiting to Capaccio (Paestum - Archaeological Zone or Paestum trainstation) ( Km. 95,VII of S.S.18). Follow the signposts for 'Casale Giancesare' B&B, Capaccio direction, after 1.5 Km. take third exit on a roundabout (turn on left), continue straight for 1km mt and turn on the right when you see the signposts. After 600 meters turn on left you will be at Casale Giancesare. Be careful because on the way you will get B&B Giancesare, you have to go over 400m till B&B CASALE GIANCESARE.
