Dar Al Bahar

Dar Al Bahar, 'the house by the sea' in Arabic, is located in the heart of the medina of Essaouira (Morocco) on the ramparts of this medieval city, facing the ocean and its trade winds.

From the terrace, you will be fascinated by the waves breaking against the rocks of the coast and by the circular panorama over the old city. The house is situated in a quiet area but not far from the main streets of the medina.

Please take note that, at the establishment, we accept only cash: euros, US dollars, GB pounds and dirhams.

Rates do NOT include tourist taxes applied by the city (23 dirhams/person/night), to be settled also at the front desk.

Directions

From Marrakech or Agadir, it's approx 3 hrs by car (Our GPS details are : N31° 30 944' W9° 46 229'). Alternatively, you can go by touring car (bus).

The more adventurous might like to take the 'local' bus, which makes many stops, is less comfortable but also less expensive.

The whole medina is a pedestrian area, so, it's a 10 min. walk. The area is named 'San Dion'.
