longest running, friendliest and YEAR ROUND hostel. We are a family run, small, clean, safe, comfortable home hostel with a very friendly atmosphere. Open Year Round! NO CURFEW

$27.78 nightly (dorm rate) does not includes the local 8% bed tax , which is collected upon arrival. Your total rate = $30 Private Rooms and Tent Space also available.

We are the main stop for shuttles coming to & from Anchroage, Denali and Yukon. Ask your driver to let you off here.
Ideal location within walking distance of the University of Alaska main campus, many shops, pubs, restaurants, bike trails,and much more. Easy access is provided by two city bus routes (Red and Blue Lines). See our website for more information.

We have several room types, some private, and some dorms. There are generally no more than 4 persons to a room.

NOTE: we make every effort to seperate the sexes, HOWEVER in the busy summer months the arrangement may be CO-ED.

There are daily shuttles from the hostel to Denali, Anchorage & Whitehorse.

Daily excursions to the ARCTIC CIRCLE, Hot Springs and other local adventures.

Backpacker Hostel is a wonderfully accommodating place from which you can base your Alaska adventure. You won't find a place with a more comfortable friendly atmosphere.

Please Note: We are a small hostel, with no Credit processing at this time. You may use credit to make a reservation (NON-Refundable deposit), but will need cash for the balance upon arrival.

Directions

BY SHUTTLE:
If you are coming from Whitehorse, Denali, Dawson City, Anchorage or other locations by shuttle, ask your driver to drop you off here.
BY TRAIN
We are a 15 minute walk (5 min drive) from the depot. Cross the hwy to Danby Rd, walk down Danby to College Rd, make a left. Make a left on Westwood.
BY CAR
The hostel is located about 10 minutes by car (45 min walk) from the Fairbanks International Airport and a 10 minute drive from downtown Fairbanks.
BY TAXI
Ask the Driver to take you to Billie's Backpackers on the corner of Westwood and Mack. The one-way fare should be about $16 from either the City Center, Airport or Rail Station.
BY CITY BUS

City bus service is MON-SAT. From the Bus Depot take the Blue Line towards the Univeristy. Get off at Westwood Way. Walk one block. First building on the left. Look for the international flags
WALKING
From the City Center: (about a 25 minute walk). Walk North on Cushman until you come to College Road. Then left towards the University. Look for Westwood Way (about one mile after you pass by the State Fairgrounds). Left on Westwood. We are the first building on the left. a sign that says 'Billie's' and international flags flying marks the hostel.
AIRPORT
