The Hostel

At The Hostel we provide comfortable accommodation at great rates! We understand that whether travelling as a tourist, backpacker or getting away with friends, comfort and budget are high on the list of priorities…we provide that and more, in the most stylish and funky hostel in Edinburgh!
Located directly opposite Haymarket Train Station in the West End, The Hostel is only a 5-10 minute walk to the hustle & bustle of Princes Street. We are also opposite the city's busiest bus interchange so you will have no problems transporting yourself out of the neighbourhood.
Edinburgh Castle and the famous Royal Mile are a must see and are easily accessible on foot or by public transport. Right on our doorstep we have the wonderful St Mary's Cathedral, a popular tourist landmark. An easy 15 minute stroll is the infamous Grassmarket area & there are a range of bars and restaurants within 100 metres of The Hostel. We can highly recommend our sister unit The West End Hotel for food & drink, where guests of The Hostel will receive up to 20% off their bill.

Please note the female dorm is only available for booking by females. If a male books this room your booking will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded. All other dorms are mixed sex.
*Triple rooms consist of lower double bed and upper single bed.
*Family room consists of 3 single bunks and 1 lower double bunk.

Bus
Lothian Bus number 1, 34, 35 stop at the Fountain Park Leisure Complex. Single ticket £1.20. £3 day ticket - good value to get around the city all day.

Taxi
Ask the driver to take you to Ritchie Place, in Polwarth area.
Cost around £7 from Princes Street or Waverley Rail Station; around £18 from Edinburgh Airport.

From Waverley Rail Station
[Taxi] : Cost around £7. Journey time around 10 minutes.

From Edinburgh Airport
[Taxi] : Cost around £18. Journey time around 20 minutes.
[Airlink 100 Express Bus] : Cost £3.50 single, £6 Return. Journey time 30 minutes. Get off at Haymarket Train Station and then take a short taxi ride as explained above.

From St Andrew's Coach Station
[Taxi] : Cost around £4. Journey time around 5 minutes.
Then take a Lothian Bus number 1, 34 at York Place. Ask the driver to let you off at Fountain Park Leisure Complex which is a short walk from the apartment. Single ticket £1.20. £3 day ticket - good value to get around the city all day.
Or take a short taxi ride as explained above.

PLEASE NOTE: Please contact us - the day before your arrival - by email or phone or text - to confirm your time of arrival at the apartment, so that we can make sure to be there to check you in - we may even be able to collect you from the Waverley Train Station to take you to the apartment.
