Centrally located in Edinburgh's West End near the ancient and beautiful Dean Village and Water of Leith. Belford Hostel is a unique and lively converted church with Gothic vibes, offering quality budget accommodation for students and backpackers. A short walk from Princes Street Shops, attractions and the New Town night life (no Curfew)
Our dormitory accommodation provides a gothic feel within the old church hall complete with stained glass windows! Dorm sizes range from 4-10 beds and we can sleep up to 98 guests. Private double and twin rooms are also available.
We operate a private residents bar and outdoor BBQ area for the exclusive use of our guests. It's a great place to relax and unwind after a hard days travelling or sightseeing, and an ideal spot to meet fellow travellers. We have a darts board, a pool table and a big screen which is great for watching movies and live sport. Oh, and the good news is there's always a drinks special on offer.
The Serious Stuff
Due to our guests being of an adult age we do not accept under 18i s in our dormitories unless the entire room is booked for that family/group. (No under 12's in dorm rooms).
There is a i 10.00 key deposit for all guests.
We accept all major credit/debit cards, but do charge a minimum 50 pence transaction fee.

Photo ID (Drivers Licence, Passport) is required to check-in to the hostel. If you are unable to produce photo ID on arrival we will not honour your booking.
Check-in time is from 2pm. Check out time is 10am.
You may cancel your booking up to 48hrs hours before arrival.
Less than 48hrs notice the first night will be charged.
In the event of a no-show (non arrival) without cancellation you will be charged the full amount.
All Groups Totaling 6 or More May Be subject To A i 20.00 Per Person Security Deposit, which will be refunded upon departure. (subject to room check or behavior)
Smoking is now illegal in all public places, thus the hostel is 100% non-smoking.

From Airport
Catch the i Airport Express Busi Number 100, to Haymarket Station. Walk east towards the city centre for about 200m and turn left down Palmerston Place (just before the Starbucks). Pass St Maryi s Cathedral on your right; go through the sets of traffic lights down the hill (the street now is called Douglas Gardens). Belford Hostel is on the right hand corner at the bottom of the hill, before the bridge.
From Waverley Train Station
When you exit the train station turn left onto Princes Street (Castle should be on your left...unless they've moved it). Continue along Princes Street which eventually turns into Shandwick Place. Continue down this road and turn right into Palmerston Place. Our funky church is located at the end of this street. Your other option is to catch a cab at a taxi stand just outside the station. A cab ride will cost you approximately i 4.00.

Exit the train station and turn right towards the city centre. Continue along West Maitland Street and turn left onto Palmerston Place (just before the Starbucks). Continue along this Street and we are located in the Church at the end.
