Description of Activity/Tour

Intensive Spanish language classes in an immersion school setting, includes family homestays, educational excursions, specialty programming by profession. Travel study options are available to Oaxaca, the Yucatan, Palenque, Morelia and beach study locations for groups and individuals. We also consult and place students in other Mexican, and Costa Rican Spanish language schools, as well as in Honduras, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Spain and in other countries for other languages including Portuguese, Chinese, French, Greek, Japanese, German and English.

Typical Day

Classes begin every Monday throughout the year with instruction between 9am and 2pm, and also includes two hours of Learning Integration Activies in Spanish M-F from 6-8pm (optional) and Saturday Excursions to ancient pyramids, museums and recreational sites are included in the price of basic tuition. *Saturday excursions require a minimum of 6 interested students.The learning integration activities included in the price of basic tuition are: Lectures; cultural activities including Mexican and salsa dance classes; twice weekly language and cultural intercambios with Mexican students learning English at the school. Other programs have different programs available regarding duration.

Age range, type of group

We provide instruction to students from age 5 and older. We have numbers of families bringing children and teenagers for studies throughout the year, and more so in the summers. Independent chaperoned teen summer program in Tepoztlan. We have college students, teachers, social workers, psychologists, doctors and nurses, business executives, international business people. Educationally enriched daycare is available within 2 blocks for children up to 6 years of age.

Sleeping and meals

Living with a Mexican family is, for most students, a valuable experience and, for the school, it is an important part of the Spanish language immersion program experience. We have carefully selected the families and are responsible for seeing that each student will be welcomed as another family member. The families have extensive background in hosting international students. Your family will also help you with homework and with the improvement of your conversational fluency. Vegetarian meal requests and other special need dietary requests are available upon request. Just note this in the comments section of your registration form.Dorm rooms (9) are also available at the school, although we request early registration to guarantee availability, especially in the summer. Breakfast is the only meal provided for this type of accommodation. There are many local family operated restaurants within a few blocks of the school. The school also provides low cost freshly prepared food until about 12:30pm Monday through Friday. Should you prefer a private accommodation, we can assist you finding a hotel room or an apartment.

Restrictions

There are no restrictions regarding acceptance of students. Programs cater to families arriving with children, professionals, high school and university groups. We have students of all ages and different nationalities on campus. We have retirees and professionals of all ages. School is operated by progressive administrators.

Our programs are also available in other locations throughout Mexico and Latin America. Please inquire regarding other school locations and options. Credits can be arranged in a variety of ways including through Seattle Central College. Referrals given to our online live voice lessons option.

Discounts Offered

Discounts are offered throughout the year for travel study options, low season, extended studies and group trips. Free studies and discounts on accommodations and meals, excursions, airport transfers provided to group leaders. Please inquire for more information regarding arranging group studies for you.
