Welcome to the Arlington Hostel. The Guest House is located less than a mile from the Pentagon & Reagan Airport, 10 minutes walk to Pentagon City Metro Station & 10 minutes metro ride to Smithsonian Museums.
PLEASE BE AWARE: We do not accept Walk Ins - Reservations Required. This is a self service guest house so please don't expect front desk service -- and this is not a place to go if you are looking for fun -- this guest house is best suitable to people that wants peace and quiet. The location is great but you must print/bring along the directions and maps from our web site so you don't get lost in the neighborhood.
ATTENTION!!! We can not accommodate check in later than 9 P.M. You must request an entry code 3 days before so you can get in the guesthouse.
PLEASE NOTE: You must respond to our e-mails so we know you have the information required to get in.
Check-In/Drop off your luggage from 10 AM, however, your room may won't be ready until 3 P.M. (Please tell us you arrived - if you don't see us; please call us on the house phone (Telephone number will be given on confirmation email after booking).
You MUST call or e-mail us 3 days before arriving to request an entry code for the guesthouse, otherwise you can not get in. You must also print off the directions page from the website or else print off the confirmation email that you will receive after booking. (This will also have all directions to American Guesthouse/Arlington!) We must have a valid phone number and E-mail address to communicate with you.
We do not accept bookings made with a debit card. There is a minimum of two nights stay. Guests must have picture ID with home address 50+ miles away from the guesthouse. Check in: From 10 AM to drop off luggage, however, your room is not ready until 3 P.M.
Check out: 10:30 AM or pay for additional night.
No-smoking, no-drinking and no pets facility ($100 clean up fee & will be asked to leave without any refunds). Wash/Dry/Fold laundry services at $10 per load. We can not accommodate children. We can not accommodate pets.
The guesthouse is known for being very clean, very quiet and safe. We have a great location and a very safe home environment surrounded by major hotels, a shopping mall, and several restaurants. We are just 10 minutes walk from the metro station, 10 minutes metro/subway ride from the Smithsonian Museums, monuments, as well as the White House. Daily cleaning is from 9:30AM to 3PM. Guests can avail of free local calls, free parking, free self service light continental Breakfast, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and cookies anytime. We offer free wireless access signal and free internet, $10 per hour after check out time (10:30am).
PAYMENT:
Balance Due is paid on the date of arrival.
We accept visa and master cards, cash or travellers checks only (no personal checks please). We do not accept reservations with a Debit Card.
CANCELLATION NOTICE:
PLEASE NOTE: The cancellation policy for American Guest House is the correct cancellation policy and all guests must go by this. The 24 hr cancellation policy is not valid for this accommodation.
We require 5 days cancellation or change notice for reservations up to 7 nights, otherwise, your card will get charged for 3 nights stay.
We need written signed authorization faxed to us if reserving with somebody elses card, otherwise we will not accept your reservation.

We are on the Blue and Yellow Line and you have to first take the red line from the Bus and train stations then change to the Yellow Line at Gallery Pl/Chinatown station then get off at the Pentagon City Station. Reagan National Airport is on the Blue and Yellow Lines and only two stops away, make sure you take it towards Gallery Place/Chinatown.

95 South towards Washington, DC, after passing Baltimore, at about exit 27 (Please Do Not Exit Here) but instead bear left , follow signs to 95/495 South towards Washington, DC/Richmond. Go about 20 miles, go across the Drawbridge (Wilson Bridge over Potomac River), take 1st Exit 177-B towards Alexandria. You are now on Patrick Street (AKA Route 1) which will eventually become Jeff Davis Hwy. Go about 6 miles towards Reagan National Airport/Crystal City, turn Left onto 23rd Street (Exxon Gas Station at corner), go up 4 blocks, Right onto Hayes Street, go another short block, Right onto 22nd Street. House is located at corner of 22nd and Hayes at 739 22nd street south.
Directions from the south (RICHMOND):
95 North towards Washington, DC, take Exit 170A, From I-395 take Exit 8C towards Route 1/Pentagon/Crystal City/Reagan National, follow signs to Route 1/National Airport, then RIGHT onto S Fern Street, then RIGHT onto 22nd Street. Guesthouse is located at end of second block at corner of 22nd and Hayes Sts.
Directions from Union Station By Metro then walk:

Take Dulles Toll Road towards Washington, DC, follow signs to Route 66 East. Take Exit 75 to Route 1 South/Alexandria/Pentagon, pass Arlington Cemetery and The Pentagon,
keep on going on Route 1 (AKA Jeff Davis Hwy), then RIGHT onto 23rd Street (Exxon Gas Station at corner), go up 4 blocks, RIGHT onto Hayes Street, go another short block, RIGHT onto 22nd Street. House is located at corner of 22nd and Hayes Streets.
From Dulles Airport by Bus / Metro: about 35 minutes

From BWI, take either the Marc Train (less than $10), or Amtrak to Union Station, then take the Red Line Metro to Gallery Pl/Chinatown, then take the Yellow Line Metro to Pentagon City Station OR
Bus/Metro: At the International Pier, catch the B-30 bus (costs $2.20), which will take you to the Greenbelt Metro Station. From there, take the Green Line train to Gallery Pl/Chinatown Metro Station and transfer from the Green to the Yellow Line. Take the Yellow Line to Pentagon City Metro Station.
