The LLH was the first hostel in Lisbon, opened in 2005 as a project by four Portuguese. From the beginning the concept was simple: to give backpackers a first-class Lisbon experience at budget prices. Through the years we have continued to improve our service, and we were recently voted the best Small Hostel in the World 2010 and 2011 by Hostelworld.
Our services include free walking tours, free nightlife tours, bicycle rental, mini bar and free coffee and tea all day. For a low cost you can join other guests for our three-course hostel dinner, cooked by our talented Portuguese chef. We also offer cheap van tours (during summertime) to the romantic historical town of Sintra and the local beaches.
We�re located in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, the main tourist centre of the city. The hostel is just around the corner from the iconic Rua Augusta, a grand and beautiful mosaic-tiled pedestrian street capped by a colossal arch. A short stroll will also take you to the charming suburb of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and the home of Fado, the music of Portugal. At night you can walk to the famous Bairro Alto, a labyrinth of bars and street parties. All forms of public transport, including the airport shuttle and the Cascais beach train line, are within very short walking distance of our hostel.

Directions
You can easily get to Lisbon Lounge Hostel by bus, subway or tram.
From the airport:
Take the METRO (red line) to Alameda and change for the green line. Get out at Baixa Chiado. Exit through Rua do Crucifixo. Once there, turn right until you find our street.
By bus: Catch bus number 91 (Aerobus), 44 or 745 and stop in Rossio Square.
By taxi: This should cost �8 to �12, depending on the hour and day of the week. The safest way is to buy a taxi voucher at the Tourism Spot at the Airport. It�s secure and avoids overpriced rates.
From Gare do Oriente Train Station:
By bus: Catch bus number 44 or 45 and get off at Pra�a do Comercio. Journey time is about 20 minutes.
By metro: Catch the red line on the metro to Alameda station. Change here to the green line, going in the direction of Cais do Sodre, and get off at Baixa-Chiado station. Go out the exit for Rua do Crucifixo. Journey time is about 20 minutes.
By taxi: This should cost about �10. Always ask for a receipt.
From Santa Apolonia Train Station:
By metro: Take the blue line on the metro to Terreiro do Pa�o (it�s the first stop).
By Bus: Catch bus #90 to Rossio Square. Or take bus number 9, 47, 746 or 759 and get off at Pra�a do Comercio
By taxi: This will cost about �5.
From Rossio, find Rua Augusta (main pedestrian street) and then our street (it's one of the streets that crosses Augusta). First you�ll cross Rua Santa Justa, then Rua da Assun��o, then Rua da Vit�ria, and finally our street � Rua S�o Nicolau. Turn left from Rua Augusta onto Rua S�o Nicolau.
From Sete Rios Train Station/Bus terminal:
Take the blue line on the metro and get off at Baixa-Chiado. Go out the exit for Rua do Crucifixo. Journey time is about 20 minutes.
