Urban Hideaway Guesthouse

Built in 1896 during the height of the Victorian era, the Urban Hideaway Guesthouse is, uniquely, one of the ONLY DOWNTOWN HOMES in Vancouver to survive the 20th Century and watch the city literally grow up around it.

We offer private and affordable rooms and suites, set in a 19th Century Victorian Guesthouse, right in the center of Downtown Vancouver. A friendly cross between a property, a B&B and a Traveler's Inn, where you can mingle with travelers from all over the world in a quite, laid-back setting.

Your friendly hosts Janine and Ken offer a relaxed, west coast alternative to the typical plastic hotel experience.

For the convenience of all guests there is an entertainment room, roof-top sun deck, flower gardens, smokers refuge, comprehensive complimentary city map, guest library, laundry facilities and storage for your luggage.

We stock all the basics you need to make your own Canadian Breakfast in our big country kitchen. (Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Veggies, Pancakes, cereals, juice, coffee, tea, etc..)

Cancellation policy: 72hrs prior to arrival

***OLYMPICS 2010***:
All bookings for the Olympics 2010 will be charged a 50% deposit on date of booking. The restbalance will be charged per 1.1.2010. We kindly inform you to consider when you book, there will be no refund incase of cancellation.

Directions

In the Middle of Vancouver! (not the bad part!)
Just 1 and 1/2 blocks from the Granville Skytrain Station.
-Two skytrain stops from the Bus/Train Station

Coming from the airport? Take the Airporter Shuttle to Hotel Vancouver and walk south three blocks to Richards Street and turn left.. or save some cash and take the City Bus downtown to Granville Station (It's slower but cheap at $3.25)

Tip: Non rush-hour cab fare is about the same as the Airport Shuttle Bus ($20-25).

If you are coming by car simply aim for downtown. The house is on Richards Street @ Dunsmuir across from the park and the cathedral.

There is parking on the block.
