Besides being fun, colourful, and cheap, we are the best bang for your traveling buck in these parts. We are the ONLY recognized backpacker's hostel in the Valley.
We offer dorms for the adventurous traveler - from four beds per room, to ten beds per room - we have something for everyone and everyone's budget.
A full kitchen, two mixing lounges, a front deck and BBQ all await you and your stories. We offer free wifi & a free computer for guests, provide all bed linens free of charge, have a take-a-book-leave-a-book library, an on-site information centre, free city maps, free coffee and tea, a BBQ and weekend salmon dinners, movie nights, bikes, and we can easily hook you up with local kayaking, scuba diving, tubing, canoeing, hiking, wakeboarding, surfing outfitters.

Directions

We are located in the middle of Vancouver Island, British Columbia - right on the Alberni Inlet, made famous by the Tsunami of 1964. Take Highway 4 from Victoria or Nanaimo, and follow it north west all the way into Port Alberni, turning left onto the Alberni Highway (at the Alberni Valley information centre/Chamber of Commerce). This road turns into Redford Road. Follow it to the end, and turn left onto Stamp Avenue. Stamp Avenue turns into 3rd Avenue. We are on 3rd Avenue, number 3250, two blocks before the corner of Argyle Street, in the heart of 'South Port', Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Look for the bright yellow house with the brilliant purple sign above the door!
