A 'World Heritage Site', the Danube Delta of Romania is considered to be one of the richest and most diverse nature reserves in the world. Spread over 580,000 hectares, the Danube delta was declared a National Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1990. A paradise for naturalists, the Delta is made up of a complex system of channels, lakes, sandbanks and forests, and is home to more than 5,500 species of flora and fauna.

The pristine beauty of the Danube Delta, coupled with its rich bird, animal and plant life makes it the ideal destination for nature lovers, birders, anglers, and eco tourists. The area is also an ideal 'get-away' for the increasing number of travellers whose primary motive is to escape from hectic city life to a calm and secluded natural environments.

The Danube Delta is also probably the finest location in Europe for ornithologists who travel here from all parts of the world to experience its rich and unique bird life. It is home to more 325 species of birds which include 60 percent of the world's population of Pygmy Cormorants, the largest European colonies of the White and Dalmatian Pelicans and more than half of all the Red Breasted Geese in the world. The reserve is a winter breeding ground for over 80 species of birds from Asia, Africa and Northern Europe.

For anglers, the lakes and channels of the Delta offer year round sport with more than 150 species of fish including Carp, Pike, Zander, Perch , Cat Fish and the Royal Sturgeon.

Anglers Bar

This stunning room has been designed to honor the rich traditions of the angling community. Oak flooring and an impressive bar counter are complimented by exclusively commissioned furniture, designed as a perfect back drop for a unique collection of fishing memorabilia. The bar has its own outside deck with a fabulous antique brass telescope. Open daily from 11am till late, the Angler’s Bar offers a fine selection of cocktails, spirits, wines and a superbly stocked cigar humidor. Canapés and snacks are served during cocktail hours.

Feathers Restaurant

The décor and ambiance of this beautiful room reflects the serenity of the Danube Delta with large open spaces and a relaxed and soothing atmosphere. Feathers offers breathtaking sweeping views over the Delta and has its own private terrace.

Culinary expertise is truly international, but has carefully integrated elements of the local Delta fare. The menu at Feathers is focused on freshest local ingredients and includes the famous Royal Sturgeon caviar from the Danube Delta, fresh fish, locally sourced meat, and seasonal organic fruits and vegetables. Internationally trained Head Chef and his brigade are proud to offer a gourmet experience from around the world – a finely balanced combination of the familiar and the exotic.

The ‘Dobrogea Room’

This multipurpose conference room seats up to 70 people theatre style and offers an adjoining reception area plus a huge terrace for breaks or pre function drinks. WI-FI and the very latest audio-visual equipment have been integrated. Romanian oak flooring makes an easy conversion to a dance floor for informal events. The Food & Beverage department is happy to tailor-make theme parties and organise special events.

‘The Nest’

With a fine and rare collection of books and periodicals on natural history, angling, Romanian art, culture and heritage, this library lives up to its name. The comfortable seating and warm ambience makes ‘The Nest’ a perfect place to relax with a cigar and a cognac. The library also leads to the ‘Watch Tower’, the highest point in the resort offering a truly spectacular panorama of the Delta and the surrounding terrain. On a clear day the powerful telescope in the tower allows views as far as Ukraine.

Exploration Centre

Located on the water-front, this is one-stop shop for the organisation of all trips into the Danube Delta. A hand picked team of experienced rangers, naturalists and boatmen are based here to plan and execute your excursions. In addition to offering a fleet of boats and vehicles with experienced guides, the exploration centre also maintains nature viewing equipment including binoculars, scopes and fishing tackle. Catalogues, guides and lists for bird watching can be obtained here. The exploration centre also runs training sessions in angling, canoeing and kayaking and organises cultural & heritage tours.


Pool & Massage Centre

An open-air pool and jacuzzi are well placed at the sunniest part of the resort, overlooking the Delta. Experienced masseurs are in the adjacent treatment rooms – offering a range of massage therapies.

‘Artisan’

Gift shop stocked with a handpicked selection of Romanian handicrafts, artifacts and souvenirs. Hand molded glass, woodwork, rugs, paintings, icons, ceramics and tapestries have been sourced from all over Romania to create a unique collection. The ‘Artisan’ also stocks books and daily essentials.
