We are centrally located on the quiet side of Cathedral Square right in the heart of Christchurch CBD.

The Historic Coachman Backpackers has everything to offer; inner sprung beds and newly refurbished set up. NZ run and owned, with great local knowledge... We have the cleanest facilities, 2-kitchens, WIFI, a friendly team of workers, and a great social atmosphere.

We opened in March 2005, and new management have stepped it up a level again in 2009. This is a truly GREAT Hostel boasting brand new modern facilities - kitchens, showers/en-suites and fully made up beds.

We offer a great selection of spacious rooms - Dorms (max. 6 people), single, twin, doubles and family rooms. Or treat yourself in our luxurious Queen en-suites. All rooms are VERY CLEAN, VERY MODERN, STYLISH and COMFORTABLE.

Directions

Regular bus services run from Christchurch International Airport and the Train station to Cathedral Central Square.

Or if in the central square walk 100m on Colombo street to Gloucester Street and turn right.
From the bus follow the tram tracks to Gloucester Street turn left walk 50m.
We are 1 minutes walk from the center of town.
