This landmark hotel is 30 minutes from the airport, overlooking Hamilton Harbour in the island*s downtown restaurant and shopping area. Surrounded by gardens, this hotel was built in 1884 after British royalty visited the island and declared it a Shangri-La. The Hamilton is the home to two restaurants, a shopping arcade, fitness center, beauty salon, and both freshwater and saltwater swimming pools. While there is no beach on-site, the hotel also offers a complimentary ferry to the Southampton Princess where guests are free to use the beach club, golf club, and tennis facilities. All rooms have air-conditioning, hairdryers, remote cable color TV, coffeemakers/tea kettles, in-room safes, internet access, dataports, bathrobes, voicemail, iron/ironing board, minibars, and cordless phone.
