Set high in the hills amid 30 acres of lush tropical vegetation, Montpelier Plantation and Beach is 10 miles from the airport and four miles from Charlestown. The historic 18th-century sugar plantation is distinguished by the warm hospitality of a private country house. It was host to the marriage of Lord Nelson and Fanny Nesbit in 1787 and retains many relics from those times, including a windmill, in use until 1933.Amenities include a full service Spa, 60-foot mosaic-tiled freshwater pool, tennis court, snorkeling equipment and private two-acre beach with daily shuttle service from the inn. Filled with antiques and comfortably furnished, the Great Room is a place for guests to gather and enjoy cocktails. There is WiFi throughout the hotel and the Sugar Shop has a computer with Internet for guest use.Island elegance distinguishes the guestrooms, each with private veranda and panoramic view.
