Mosquito Blue Hotel and Spa is Playa del Carmen first luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of 5th Avenue amid Playa many shops, bars and restaurants. This intimate two story, adults only Hotel offers two pools surrounded by lush landscaped gardens and chaise lounges, open air dining and lounge area, pool table and computer station with complimentary Internet access.<P>Created and designed by its Italian owner, Mosquito Blue’s design elements stand out with its mix of contemporary European style and tropical Caribbean colors. The decor is tropical chic, a mixture of modern elegance with casual tropical living. The curving pools are surrounded with subtle lighting hidden among the tropical plants and winding paths to help achieve the mood. The center piece is the palapa thatched two story open air tent with a sofa and cushions below, and a billiard table above. In the upper sitting area, guests enjoy a complimentary petit dejeuner in the morning of tea, coffee and fruit. Padded seats carved into the stone create a convivial meeting spot. Just two blocks away is our beachfront sister hotel, Mosquito Beach, where guests can enjoy a private beach club with day beds, lounge chairs, towels, food and wait-staff.<P>Hotel offers two swimming pools, private beach club just two blocks away with large day beds and beach service, gourmet Italian restaurant and In-house spa.<P>The 45 air-conditioned guestrooms are spacious and intimate, modern and ethnic. They feature hand-crafted mahogany beds, arching doorways, artisan coffee tables and modern accessories. All have cable television and high-speed Internet access. All rooms have: Air conditioning, Climate control, Daily housekeeping, Flat-panel television, Free high-speed wifi, minibar, ice service, phone, premium bedding, satellite television service, turndown service, wake-up calls, blackout drapes/curtains, Bvlgari bath toiletries, extra towels/bedding in room, hair dryer, in-room safe, and iron/ironing board.
