The Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam is located at Amsterdam's Oostelijk Havengebied (Eastern Docklands), three miles from the Anne Frank house, and approximately 10 miles from Schiphol Airport. Listed as a national monument and dating from 1921, the hotel is a true showcase for Dutch architecture and design. The location is two miles from the Royal Palace and five minutes by tram from Central Station. Access from the ring-road is easy and many rooms offer lovely views over the water. The hotel has paid parking facilities in a nearby parking garage.<br><br>The hotel's Cultural Embassy offers various services in communal spaces. Situated above the restaurant, the Cultural Embassy informs guests and interested parties on topics such as art, culture, and cultural projects. In conjunction with the Lloyd Hotel, the Cultural Embassy and its members organize projects and cultural activities, performances, small exhibitions, and presentations. Admission is always free for everybody.<br><br>The hotel amenities include the two restaurants (Snel and Sloom), game room, indoor swimming pool, and room with a kitchen. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service, valet laundry service, a business center, computer rentals, currency exchange, a concierge, and 24-hour front desks service.<br><br>Guest rooms feature free high-speed Internet access, satellite TV, private bathrooms, bathroom Internet access, and irons and ironing boards. A number of exciting Dutch designers have created several of the furniture pieces in the guest rooms. The city of Amsterdam imposes an extra tax of 5 percent on room accommodation rate. This tax will be charged to guests at check-out, and paid directly to the hotel.
