River Gate inn bed & breakfast is located on the banks of the Assiniboine River in the heart of Winnipeg. Sometimes called an urban retreat as the natural beauty provided by some of the oldest and largest Elm and Cottonwood trees in Winnipeg shelter the estate. The central location provides quick and easy access to everything Winnipeg has to offer. The zoo, airport, legislative grounds, downtown, excellent restaurants, museums, shopping, sport facilities, the exchange district, "Little Italy", The Village. all within 5-15 minutes!

Accommodations

A lovingly restored and cared for Tudor style mansion built in 1920 that is furnished with antique furniture is the setting at the River Gate Inn. Full, hot breakfasts are served in the formal dining room or in the sunroom when weather permits. The deck provides a cozy relaxing spot to dry off from the heated outdoor pool! Huge Cottonwood and Elm trees, flowers, vegetation and even wildlife provide a setting hard to find in any major city! Rare owls, raccoons, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, butterflies and birds of all types are sometimes sighted on the property. Perhaps make arrangements for a Bar-B-Que on the deck? Or play billiards on rainy days. In the winter, sip on some cocoa in front of the fireplace or grab a book from the library and cuddle up in one of the chairs. Let us make arrangements for a massage or a day at the spa! Come, treat yourself to the best kept secret in Winnipeg!

Rooms/Suites

All of our rooms vary but most have ensuite bathrooms and some have jacuzzi tubs. Two rooms share a bathroom and it is ideal for a family or two couples travelling together. Some rooms have pull out couches for additional sleeping space when required. King down to twin beds and even a canopy bed. Whatever you are looking for, it's here! Of course, a full hot breakfast is served and coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, cookies/cake, microwave and fridge are available 24 hours a day.

Winnipeg is well known for excellent authentically prepared food and restaurants or all types. We would love to help you choose if you require some direction. The heated outdoor pool, deck, billiard room, big screen television, wireless internet and computer station are all available for our guests use!

Of course, a full hot breakfast is served and coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, cookies/cake, microwave and fridge are available 24 hours a day. Let us make arrangements for a massage or a day at the spa! We have made arrangements for our guests t o be treated extra special. This can require some time so 6 weeks notice ensures availability at one of Winnipegs most exclusive Spas and Salons. Special arrangements for flowers, chocolate, champagne, etc can be made as requested. Fees apply.

Policies & Restrictions

We ask that respect for the house, all of the guests, our neighbours and neighbourhood are considered at all times. We are a non-smoking establishment, do not take pets and children are welcomed but are the parents responsibility. We ask that late arrivals (after 8) or early arrivals (before 4) make arrangements with prior notification. Other than that, we expect you to enjoy yourself and create some of your memories!
