About Golden Gobi Guesthouse

Golden Gobi is owned and run by a Mongolian family from the Gobi desert. We opened in 2005 and our reputation has been growing ever since.

Our knowledgeable English speaking staff has vast experience in the tourism field. They are on hand 24hrs a day to provide advice and suggestions to help you plan and arrange any tours or travel you wish to undertake. We want to enhance your time in our country and help you make the most out of Mongolias huge potential on a budget.

Our much travelled team Mongolian team provide you with the most authentic experience available in Ulaan Bataar that our competitors just cannot match. The main aim is to give high quality, honest service to make you feel at home and assist you in having an amazing time amongst the wilderness and nature of our country.

We accomodate independent travellers unique needs and provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment as a base for you to start exploring the land of the great Genghis (Chingis) Khan. All year round we have a large number of cheap dormitory beds, in addition we also offer comfortable single and double rooms with private toilet and shower facilities. All of our prices include a free light breakfast and tea and coffee.

For your added comfort we have a large kitchen and two big chill out rooms with hundreds of DVD movies available free of charge to keep you entertained after a long days horse/camel riding or an extended period living with nomadic families who do not have these luxuries.

Please let us know what time you will arrive in advance and we will pick you up free of charge from the train station.

Great hostel and staff. The staff go above and beyond to help you with tour bookings, train tickets, and recommendations around UB. The hostel seems to attract a very social crowd which is great for meeting up with others to do tours or for exploring UB with. I did several tours with Golden Gobi and enjoyed both very much - lots of opportunities to interact with Mongolian Families, try lots of different Mongolian foods, beautiful landscapes, blue skies, and amazing star-scapes at night.

'Having stayed at various accomodation in Ulaan Bataar i can truly say that Golden Gobi provided me with the most enjoyable and authentic experience. The hard-working staff are so helpful, genuine and caring that it will be hard for you to leave! It felt really special to fee like part of one big family. All my needs were met and more. We offer FREE pick up from the train station so just let us know your arrival time and train number. We also can pick you up from the airport at a low fare.

If you come by yourself you can take taxi but you should agree on the price before leaving, or you can walk here. We are located about 30 minutes from the train station near the main State Department Store. Just give us a call and we will meet you wherever you are.
