Our Victorian homestead was built in 1883 during the colonial times of the British Empire, created by Welsh Historian W.H.S Roberts; the original name of the house was Marapua the Maori word for flower.
Chillawhile Art Gallery is an open Art Studio for creative guests and the Chillawhile Lounge is a meeting place for travelling musicians.

From North SH1 (Christchurch and Timaru)
Go 3 blocks past New World Supermarket, first right (Frome Street) after Four Square and before Roberts park.
From South SH1 (Dunedin)
Take SH1/Thames St north for 1km through Oamaru.

We are located in the North End behind Roberts Park and are viewable from the Thames Highway, across the road from the Post Office, Public Pay Phone, Chemist/Pharmacy and ATM Money Machine. We are a short drive into the centre of town or a 25-minute walk; taxis from the bus are about $10
