Pensão Residencial Portuense

Pensão Portuense, being totally renovated, is located in the historic area of Lisbon, the Baixa Pombalina, in Rua das Portas de Santo Antão.

The road is full with a heavy mix of restaurants. One may indulge in a variety of seafood, meat or even chicken dishes accompanied by some of the best Port wines. Why not also try the famous Ginjinha? Follow the trail of this important street and you may find yourself watching a famous play at the Coliseu dos Recreios or at the Politeama Theatre. You may also encounter a French Community Chapel (Igreja São Luís dos franceses).

For a journey back in time, behind the pensão, one can find the old prison of Tronco where Luís de Camões was jailed, in 1552, for having been involved in a fight. If you look carefully you may be able to find some traces of this event.
