A very cozy and friendly Bed & Breakfast run by an Australian and Swedish couple.
Breakfast is included in the rates for single, double and twin rooms ONLY . ( see notes below )
Situated in Swedish Lapland , opposite the lake and near to the ski lifts, Tarnaby Bed & Breakfast have single rooms double rooms, triple rooms and family rooms. Guests have FREE use of canoes, mountain bikes ( subject to availability ) .

We also have a choice of 4 bed ,6 bed, or 10 bed private self-contained apartments available nearby.

A newly built section opened in March 2006 . This has now become our pub-cafe-restaurant with beautifully made and scrumptious home baked cakes and dinners.
We have an outdoor ' barrel ' 10-seat sauna available for rental as well as a 4 man fishing boat.
There is ample off-street parking and a motor warmer socket available for the winter months.

A Ski Bus can pick you up from the door to take you Tarnaby ski slopes (between 800 and 1500 mtrs away ) or to our sister ski-resort of Hemavan .

NOTE : For early risers and/or during slower periods, we may set up a breakfast pack in the accommodation instead of a buffet breakfast in our cafe.
NOTE : Breakfast is included ONLY with single, double and twin room bookings. For dorm or family rooms, breakfast costs an extra 70 SEK for adults and 45 SEk for kids 12 years old and under.
NOTE : In slower periods between busy seasons our TLC Pub-Cafe may not be open.
NOTE : Linen and towels are included in the price for single, double and twin rooms but NOT for 3 bed, 4 bed or 6 bed family rooms. You're welcome to bring your own or hire linen / towel sets from reception for 120 SEK per person.


Taernaby produced Alpine Skiing Legend Ingemar Stenmark , current Women's World Champion Anja Parson and recent champion Jens Bygmark. It's a small village with a big alpine tradition.

Directions to get to our B&B reception ( TLC Pub-Cafe ) and for key pick up for our apartments :
Driving from the South: When you enter Tarnaby on the ' BlaVagen / E12 , you will see a ' Statoil ' petrol station on the right opposite the lake. Continue on the BlaVagen E12 for about another 1200 meters and you will see our business also on the right opposite the lake.
Driving from the North : When you enter Tarnaby you will be on the ' BlaVagen E12 ' . On the left you will see a Toll house ( Tull ) . Keep driving on the BlaVagen E12 and you will notice a church on the left after about 600 metres. Continue driving still on the BlaVagen for another 500 metres and you will come to our business on the left opposite the lake.

Tarnaby is located in Swedish Lapland about 900 km's North of Stockholm. 350 km North of University City of Ume'. 120 km's south of Norwegian city of Mo i Rana with the Norwegian border only 45 km's west. Only 150km south of The Arctic Circle ! Hemavan Airport is only 17 km's way with 6 flights a week from Stockholm Arlanda. In Tarnaby our B&B is situated about 500 metres from the village shops and 700 metres from the bus station/post office. The ski slope lifts are between 800 and 1500 meters away. If you don't wish to walk, a Ski-bus picks you up right from the car park of T'rnaby B&B or from Stetind Apartments. ( see pictures for a map to see where our B&B and where our apartments are )
