Description of Active Adventure

Our rides are in the mountains of the Continental Divide separating Montana and Idaho. We provide half -day rides, a chuckwagon supper and trail ride, and a chuckwagon supper, trail ride, and rodeo. In the fall we offer a beautiful fall color trip into the mountains with emphasis on photography.
The Diamond 'P' Ranch is located at the base of the mountains. Our rides start in the meadows riding along side of cattle and loose running horses. We quickly climb into the mountains of the Gallatin National Forest..

Typical Day

Guests arrive for the morning ride, we usually have some fun things to do while signing release forms etc. We have a short but very specific training course on horsemanship and safety. We go into the mountains trying to get back in the vacinity of 1:00 p.m. . The afternoon half day ride is essentially the same as the morning ride. The evening ride starts at 5:00 returns to the corrals by 7:00 travels to the chuck wagon supper site by hay wagon. On Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays , after the chuck wagon supper we attend the rodeo.

Age range, type of group

Younger pre-school children are allowed to ride on the horse with an adult. There is no weight limit. We have horses for all levels of skill including no experience at all. We love families and we will gear our rides to match the guest's level of experience.

Sleeping and meals

Chuck Wagon Supper available each evening and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays guests will be able to attend a real full scale rodeo with all of the major events, including bull riding, saddle bronc riding, & team roping.

Other Information

If so desired we have hats, coats (for colder days), and chaps. If you have your own warm clothing, including gloves and rain gear, we suggest you bring it; the weather can change within a few minutes on the Continental Divide.

Come prepared to take lots of pictures! Pictures with you dressed in actual, genuine, cowboy attire will mean a lot!
