Description of Surrounding Area

Parque Marítimo El Coco is located within the boundaries of the Wild Life Refuge "La Flor" which among the Nicaraguan natural beauties is outstanding for its scenic beauty. At the present time the park offers for rent 8 houses, 3 bungalows and 4 apartments with a capacity for 92 guests.Parque Marítimo El Coco is the most suitable place for you to repose in an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. It is the ideal place to visit with the whole family because the beach is large and safe with beautiful white sand and shallow water. We offer a wide range of activities to make your stay more enjoyable like: excursions with horse or bicycle to the nearby villages, sports in the beach like football or volleyball, boat trips to the Isla Bolaños or a visit to playa La Flor, where thousands of sea turtles Paslama arrive to lay their eggs.

Amenities

Our restaurant "Puesta del Sol" (sunset) is situated right at the seashore of the Coconut Beach. Every evening it offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean sunset. We offer you Nicaraguan and international dishes as well as Austrian specialties. The restaurant is open 7 days a week. Come and enjoy a fine meal and rest in one of our hammocks in a calm and sound atmosphere. The hacienda "Esperanza", belonging to the Parque supplies the restaurant "Puesta del Sol" with fresh vegetables and fruits of biodegradation. The Restaurant is open daily from 8 am till 8 pm (longer when there are guests for dinner).

Directions

Parque Marítimo El Coco lies 18 kilometers south of San Juan del Sur, on the route to Ostional. As you drive into San Juan del Sur you will notice a cross road leading off to your left with a sign indicating the direction of Parque Marítimo El Coco. This macadam road takes you to Parque Marítimo el Coco within half an hour. During the rainy season we recommend using a four wheel drive vehicle.Buses leave the Managua station at the Roberto Huembes Market for Rivas every hour. From Rivas you can catch the bus to Ostional at 11:30am, 3pm or 4:45pm, and you can get off this bus just in front of the Parque Marítimo El Coco. Same goes for the buses leaving for Ostional from San Juan del Sur, leaving at 1pm, 4pm and 5:30pm. For the trip back catch a bus at 6am, 7:30am or 4pm.
